We are immortal mercenaries fighting over prime real estate on planets dedicated to high industry, manufacturing, production and whatever else we need. We hop into refineries, mines, processing plants and pew pew all over the place. With all this chaos, how would any work be completed? How would any biomass be produced when all the workers must hide in their bunks or risk being disintegrated by stray gunfire?
I feel that there should be a representation of the work being done on the planets, and that these battlefields should not look like ghost towns. It would seem viable to me that the process would be somewhat if not entirely automated. It would be entirely immersing if we were to be shooting each other all while small, medium and large automated structures, robots and vehicles moved about the battlefield in an industrial effort. It would be reminiscent of a factory gunfight in an action movie.
I'm not saying that there should be hordes of automated critters going about their business, just something to make the environment seem less deserted. Currently it is hard to believe we are doing anything except annoying the help and halting production. Its like we own a cafe, but must have a drunken brawl every lunch hour in order to keep our potatoes.
Just curious if anyone else feel the same way. |

Dust mercs tend to schedule their battles during the factory workers' coffee breaks.
You know...
Because they're not dicks. |

Oh... and that's why we use environmentally friendly firearms and explosives that avoid damaging structures and terrain. Yep, all makes sense to me now. |

It would be pretty cool to see some active equipment like neutral drones, conveyer belts, cranes and the like. Especially if you could use them to your advantage in a fight. |

That's exactly what I'm talking about, it would make the world feel more industrial and real. |

Seeing as Planetary Conquest takes place during the one hour that an installation is vulnerable, I would assume that those working in the area would take shelter in whatever safe place is around rather than sticking around to be blasted by the mercenaries. Not everyone has access to clones... |

We see civilian work vehicles, cranes, etc. in our matches all the time.
I know everyone has seen the civilian work truck, and every dropship has had a good experience with the overhanging utility crane at the table top map.
I don't want to see civilians getting mowed down. If they introduce that, they better introduce friendly fire into pub matches.
But interactive enviroments would be nice. Let us knock the cranes down, and blow the trucks up, etc. |

I agree with a lot of ideas on this thread. More interactive maps would be nice. |

Interaction would be amazing, but I'm thinking that as Cosgar said, it would be nice to have some neutral automated drones or some sort of automation happening to show that the place does not power down so that we can have the playground for fights and whatnot. In a futuristic world such as this it seems weird that industry would entirely shut down when so much could be happening on its own. |

Have you guys noticed that this game is not even out. I do understand where you are coming from OP but right now I think it is best for CCP to focus on fixing the bugs that are in the game (i.e. spawning system, hitbox server side lag). Im just saying that lets keep out ambitions a bit realistic until this game actually starts making money. |

Being realistic is fine and all, but they won't do what we don't ask of them. We neeed to keep in mind that YES, it IS a Beta, so we shouldn't expect everything at once, but at the same time they are counting on us to tell them where they are lacking and what they need to do to fix that.
On topic, we need this. I'd love to be one of the first guys to hide his signature by crawling next to a large moving drone and stealth my way in. Like jumping into an automated cart of material, or savaging the IFF from a drone to open the front gate. |

I think more people need to adopt this mentality. I am well aware that this game is in beta, and that there are many, many, many and many more issues that dominate the future landscape for even years to come. This is a game that will be around for many years and it is never to soon to start giving feedback on what we would like to see in the future. I am a patient person and am willing to wait six, seven, eight or 10 years to see all the great ideas implemented into this game. That being said, your potential for sneakiness is astounding and I hope one day to be ambushed in a way such as the one you have described. |
