I don't understand why Uprising will be the official release. We are currently playing the 0.7 build, right? So all the new content (though it's missing entire dropsuits) constitutes a jump from 0.7 to 1.0? Boy, I hope so.
How a game launches is critical to it's success. Most of us are beta tester vets, we are used to sub-par gameplay that is constantly being improved. But most consumers are fickle. If the launch isn't stellar, it could become... tainted. Sure, we will always attract random people, much like eve does...just...
Is Sony putting them up to this? Are they getting pressure to release before the final product is ready? If matchmaking and frame rate isn't improved, most gamers will simply leave and probably never return. We stay because of what the game will become. We are weird, odd, outliers.

It'll never be "ready", Dust is different in that regard but they had to officially get it out of beta and now seems like the ideal time. |

Well, based on footage of the Uprising build, I'll say it can definitely hold it's own against other fps games, but.... the frame rate and lag remain to be seen. |

Cant say ive ever experienced lagg in dust cause i havent but anyway back on topic the game will keep improving overtime with updates but i want to see these uprising and may 14th patchnotes |

Sony has no say on the matter. They are just a distributor for CCP. That said I like to make it clear that we had this discussion before about five months ago when everyone was worried that a December 2012 release was too soon. If you asked back then, players will agree that the game is not ready. Because of that, CCP delayed the release.
Now, considering what we saw at fanfest and given what we know now and experienced for ourselves (for those who went to fanfest) it seems that DUST is finally ready at this point. |
