I've been hearing a lot about how pub matches should be restricted by sp or to just militia gear but neither of these options fit in line with the true intent of the Eve universe. Sandbox and player interaction. By limiting matches to suits which cost under a set amount it would still allow customization (sandbox) and for corps to train with their newer players (player interaction). AUR items can be valued at their ISK counterparts, so their wouldn't be a loop hole. The older players might have skill bonuses but that's EvE, nothing is entirely fair. The new players just need a fighting chance. This system would prevent proto-stomping while still allowing the freedoms and interactions which make this game unique. |

Many people don't realize that pub matches are already restricted to sp. When joining a pub match it takes the highest sp of all squaded characters and puts the squad into a match consisting of other characters with around the same sp. There is also suppose to be some method it uses to catorgorize u furjther by ur gear but I don't know how it works.
This feature was implanted a build ago befor dust went open beta but most people still don't know about it.
Ofcoarse the process does need to be refined better to get less pub matches consisting of one side raping the ogher due to 1-3 players who know what their doing but I'm shure ccp is working on that unfortunatly the more complex a shooter is the harder it is to catorgorize the players into diffrent "ranks".
As for ur eve is a sandbox deal well no matter how much u try there will always be a player with an advatage. Pub matches are however suppose to please more to the call of duty players and are by nature a very segregated part of the sandbox. Planetary conquiest aswell as other features that are to come those are the sandbox features and will have little to no restrictions or filters |

A little teamwork can make the difference even if you are running starter fits. |

Not when whole corps are in the battle, using blob tactics, sniping across the map with lasers and SS proficiency 3 proto ARs, calling in multiple tanks, and working the postage stamp sized map in a circle to mow down everything in their way without the opposing team having a chance to spawn in. |

How about adding a social skill named ex. "Risk taking". It would require from player to consciously allocate some SP to advance to next level. Advancement would of course be irreversible.
New players start at 0. Max level is 5. The skill level would control how many damage a player can receive from and deal to others expressed by the formula: level x 0,2 x normal damage. It would control active SP gain along with WP and ISK from battle. At level 0 to 4 a player could take part in pubmatches only. At level 5 in pubs and unlocked all other types. Takes full risk and reward.
At level 0 new players would be just spectators. Any rounds fired by them or at them would be harmless. Would allow them use of free equipemnt (incl. vehicles). This way they could accustom themselves harmlessly with game environment. At level 5 full damage input/output. Along with ISK/WP/active SP. Would leave passive SP gain unaffected by this skill.
Additionaly The Matchmaker could take that skill's level into account when matching players for pub battle. It would be much educating for new players to see performance of more advanced ones so matches should be staged with players of differing skill but with modesty. The advanced players selected by The Matchmaker for a "teacher's" role could get extra ISK bonus with some information visible to all battle participants. |

The new Battle Finder is implementing Filters. Once that is in place we can see how it works. Then requesting additional filter options might be a better time and place to bring this up.
Otherwise, this has been requested in many formats, a significant number were self serving! Imagine Mercenaries being self serving. |

I agree entirely except for one point: This should not be a skill but an option in battle finder. This would allow players to just join a game and have fun and also allow for friends to play on your character if people even do that GÇ£have friends overGÇ¥ thing anymore. That's so last millenium. |
