 just a few questions

 1) Will we able to turn this feature off? I don't believe some really need it, also it could get in the way of seeing whats in front of you during battle.

 2) Will there be a timer when this shows up? Just like a time limit & then you are shown the map

You're dead bro, you don't need to see anything

Seriously though, can we make it so we have to press triangle or something?

 1. Doubtful

 2. More than likely the way you described it.

Well at least teabaggers won't be a problem if most of the screen is covered by the killer's info

I welcome this screen. I'd prefer it to be a full killmail though, and tell you all the people who also did damage to you that engagement (basically anyone who got an assist, and how much damage they did as well)

The killers info will most likely have their email, cell phone number, SSN, Facebook page, Credit Card information, and their home address with a direct link to it on google maps, and a hotlink to "How to Learn Karate In One Week: The Book".

It would be nice if it carried over in some way to the spawn screen.. nothing overbaring but it would be nice to plot my revenge while waiting to re-spawn.

EDIT: By not overbaring I mean it should be tucked away in the corner but there to review none-the-less

I'm happy to wait and see what this looks like, and i appreciate what this feature is attempting - more social integration.

But my knee-jerk reaction is that it's unpalatably hand-holdy. The next step down this road is showing us where our killer is. That would be so distateful i'd be tempted to leave DUST to the kiddies and go back to EVE.

It's not much different from the kill information that is available in EVE. They don't rub your face in it, but then again, EVE is like Window 98 in Space- you have to hunt for everything.

I look at it as two good things:

 - Encouragement to get revenge
 - Encouragement to think informationally

I like that it shows distance. This will be very very useful information in tracking down those sneaky snipers.

 Snipers beware.

That is not the case in DUST. Giving players the location of their killer is intel creep and detracts from the game imo. If the location of a sniper(or whatever kills us) was not availiable on our tacnet to begin with, say because the sniper had positioned themselves well, invested in the right skills, and fit their suit properly, why should the game give away location information to a player who was sloppy enough to get themselves sniped in the first place?

It's a game mechanic that caters to lowest common denominator and is more than a little arcadey. How can this possibly enrich tactical gameplay?

Ahh so good. It's amazing how one small piece of information could change a match.

I like that it also forces snipers to be better at their jobs and move around more.

I like that it also forces snipers to be better at their jobs and move around more. I think everybody is over-reacting to snipers. Maybe because of psychological scarring from the past several months.

But I will tell you this - in PC snipers will never win a district, unless they're part of a squad and performing their intended role.

Don't let your hatred of snipers force DUST into kindergarden game mechanics. That would be a freakin' tragedy.

Knowing who killed us and where they were via eye-of-god game mechanics belongs in a fantasy game, not in a hardcore shooter set in a dark future universe.

If it absolutely must be implemented, do it strictly for pub matches. That's where it belongs.
