I find myself hopelessly outgunned, running around with the most basic of kit I can barely get a shot off before someone with far nicer toys guns me down in mere seconds. When I used this before, I still stood a pretty decent chance against the far superior tech. Now, I may as well be throwing paper balls and wearing a frying pan on my head. My ability to turn now seems null and void as if you come at me from anywhere other than within my field of view I'll be dead before I can even turn to face you, let alone shoot you. Why don't we all get placed into squads anymore? I see a few with only a couple of people in, and everyone else is just bundled at the end on their own. I didn't even notice it at first, I only realised when I looked to find out who was my squad leader. I didn't hear a single voice from anyone in all the games I played, I was very lonely talking to myself. Where's the communication? I also kept dying on spawn, as there were people sat waiting who turned me into swiss cheese before I was even able to move away.
I see that the problem I have is that my gear isn't up to scratch with most other people who have been at this a while, and as a result they wipe the floor with my poor little cloned face before I can blink. I'm also just awful at FPS' anyway, but in DUST I was alright. Slowly but surely I'll fight my way back to the adequate performance ability I had before the curse of university began. It will take time, but I shall persevere.................after my uni exams, can't forget those. I just hope that when the game is released in mere weeks, people aren't put off by the constant stream of death. problem is two fold imo, but before that auto squading not happening is a good thing, now players can actually form up squads, I try to aim for squads of 3 they almost always have mics and as such result in better squading experiences, if they don't have mics I just leave after the match, if they don't want me in their squad I simply find another one the next match, no skin off my back. now for the reasons you are getting pub stomped. first SP if you haven't been playing your SP is likely way behind now, even in even fittings the player with the most sp put into his role will have the advantage, gear is important but this is also something to consider, so more sp + better equipment = a huge advantage on a player that hasn't been around for awhile, not hing you can do about having less SP really but the good news is their is a ceiling to how much SP you can invest in a single role, and if you keep playing things will start to even out for you. the second thing is lack of practice if you haven't been playing for a month, then people have been getting better, newberries turn into pub stompers every day, and the players of the open beta have definitely improved a lot over the last 3 months. stick with it and improve your fits and you'll get their. What he said. +1, also. Get your passive boost skills up first, i find that to be a wonderful way to counterpub-stomp. get':Field mechanics, combat engineering, circuitry, and shield control up to at least 3 a piece. Increases PG, CPU, Shield, and Armor. Passively. If you use the Enforcer suit you can get it's hp to around 340 without upgrading(though i'd make a set with a standard AR and an Assault Scrambler. Change out the shield regulator for a militia armor repairer(no difference between basic and militia except requirements and money. Should cost you around 9-12k a suit. unless you run 0-20+, you'll make a profit. Don't run in straight lines, look around CONSTANTLY. Like a dog shouting SQUIRREL. If you need anything else you can always squad up with me. I'm on around 4-12PM EST. Also, shouldn't this be on general discussion? |

You need to take into account multiple things for that: Am i using a different weapon than usual? And if so, does it meld more easily with my preferred fighting style? Are my passive boosts (weaponry, circuitry, combat engineering, shield control, field mechanics, Scrambler pistol operation) higher than normal? Or is it just my approach to dropsuits on this character? I've gone through 6 characters as "experiments" as to what the best way to spend your starting SP would be. And i found that getting Lv1 in your light weapon, and lv 2 in scrambler pistol(ammo only, don't use em right off the bat) and then going straight for field mechanics and shield boost systems is the best way to go. You're increasing your militia gear to around the strength of standard gear, (which people just starting like you have no passives) while decreasing the cost by around 80% It's a great way to start off. Also, getting shield boost systems unlocks Shield booster upgrades for vehicles, so even if you're a vehicle operator it'll benefit you. Passive boost to recharge rate not bad either. |
