When we purchase a dropship and go to stock it...there are default turrets that we are not able to remove. Not sure how dropships will work after uprising but a dropship is intended for transport.

When players spawn in my dropship, they'll sit in the turret even when I'm hovering over an objective with no enemies there. Sometimes, I'll have 3 or 4 people in my dropship not doing anything. I guess the others that are not in turrets are probably waiting to get in a turret.

I'd like the ability to remove those turrets from my dropship so that when players spawn, there will be nothing for them to do or to look forward to do. And hopefully, they'll jump out and hack an objective or something. Ability to remove turrets will also save us cpu & pg. An auto-kick button would suffice but if CCP will not code that in, I'd appreciate it if we can have the ability to remove turrets, at the very least.

I wouldn't mind this feature on LAVs and Tanks (for the minor turrets) as well.

 Nah.

The entire reasoning behind nearly everything in DUST, maybe EVE as well, is decisions have consequences and that means making decisions that have good and bad attributes tied to them.

It might make more sense to restart this thread in a month after we come to grips with Uprising.

While it [removing] would make sense, be nice and pro-choice, it would make CCP's balancing of the vehicles even more difficult.

I would like to see passenger "turret mods" that would be fit in the turret slots that could be used to turn the dropship into a strictly transport ship. Give the middle section blast doors instead of a turret.

Might i add a possible alternative? Instead of removing turrets all together, make different turret types that are meant for defensive roles. For example, Defender missile turret, Fires a volly of missiles that lock onto enemy swarms and intercept them. Maybe even add a chance to intercept so proto defender turrets have a really good chance to intercept all the missiles. I believe that this would be an incentive for blues to jump out and hack, and when on the turret defend the dropship, instead of mindlessly shooting at the MCC.

This makes no sense whatsoever He says no to everything, even things he doesn't understand. Once someone asked for 3rd person view while bleeding out (like MAG), and he said no and started talking about CoD killcams.

Anyway I agree with the OP. Dropships are transport vehicles first, we need to be able to trade offensive capabilities to fit more defensive ones for safer transporting.
