Dear Dust 514 players
The short version:
Please help us by answering this anonymous survey.
The longer version:
WeGÇÖre a group of four graduate students from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.
WeGÇÖre currently working on a large-scale project on CCP GÇô more specifically, the release of Dust 514 and its integration with the established EVE universe.
In this regard weGÇÖre looking to obtain primary quantitative data from players of either of the two titles. WeGÇÖre doing this through a structured survey and we would very much appreciate if you would take ~2-6 minutes out of your schedule to share your opinions with us by completing this anonymous survey.
We welcome responses from Dust players of all ages and nationalities.
We thank you for taking the time to assist us in our data collection and wish you the best of luck in your future gaming-endeavors.

I didnt like the wording on the subscription questions and the free to play one after it. I never understood what you were trying to learn in asking it that way. Just my thoughts. |

I filled it out.
Just beware of your sample size. The people that you have filling it out are those that are hardcore forum warriors. Your results may be skewed because of that.
The very new PS3 player, that installed it, tried it, quit. Will never come across the forum. |

However, given the scope and timeframe of the project we've chosen to simply consider this a limitation (albeit quite a sizable one) rather than trying to reach this other segment. If you have any ideas as to how we could wholly or partly reach this "quitting segment" we'd love to hear it:)

Most of the time, the best way to reach these audiences would be to get the broadest attention as possible, but that would involve you going out of your way to have other gaming sites help you out. I don't even know if their company policies would even allow for such things. |

Not only that, there's also a massive selection bias as the respondents are self-selected.
In other words, fine for an undergrad study, absolutely useless and invalid for market research or graduate study purposes.

To find the quitters to survey them...go to forums that are popular with PS3 gamers. Once you've gone to a forum, post in a "general" sub-forum that is NOT game-specific. Make sure you're in the right sub-forum that will will allow posts on general topics, rather than a sub-forum where a moderator will move your post to some other DUST-specific sub-forum.
Make your subject line something like "If you DON'T like DUST, please take our grad-study survey". That will get the attention of the right people. Don't worry, DUST players will read your post anyway. In the post you can say the survey is open to anyone that's tried DUST.
I'd put a note in your post to the moderators, asking them not to move the post to a DUST sub-forum. I'd make it the first line of your post. Something like "Moderators: Please don't move this to a DUST forum. We are trying to reach players that DON'T like DUST."
So, which forums? Ask others. I don't visit a lot of forums. The only ones that come to mind are the official Sony forums, and the ign.com forums. I know those both have a wide audience.
And, since we all want to help DUST, and since I'm helping you here, please include this link to our new player's guide at the bottom of your post. Maybe it will draw and keep new players in DUST:
