The way I see it, Aurum is most effective, enticing, and most benevolent when the goods are vanity. Raven Assault, Valor Scout, Sever Logistics, the old school BPCs from closed beta (can't remember there names besides the "Colossus" Heavy). Anyways those are the best way Aurum can be used in my opinion. I'm not saying the only way, but it's a darn good way.
So I have a few suggestions that would probably bring hermit crabs out of there shells to use aurum, like me. I never used it and the forum discussions tell me I'm a winner. But to those people who still have those rarity BPCs from closed beta, damn it! I wish I got some.
I know that paint bucket option is coming to dropsuits and probably vehicles, and would obviously cost Aurum, but here are some other Vanity Aurum options/ideas that a skeptic, such as myself, could entice: (You can skip to the end, they aren't part of my suggestion merely examples of ways to expand the vanity economy for Aurum)
Colored Ammunition: An augmentation that can change the color of your projectiles! The ability to use multiple should be used, so a hardcore buyer would shoot all the colors of the rainbow through out their magazine.
Colored Equipment: Notice how a nanohive glows blue? How a repair tool emits yellow? A little cheap augmentation just like colored ammunition except for Equipment.
Expanded Corporate Logos: Expands color/emblem options, comes in various packages. So you know what you're getting.
Radio: Now this is pretty much ripped off from BF Vietnam, but it allows you to take music from your PS3, and upload them to dust and play them while in game. If possible, be able to transmit that over communication, so your squad mates could listen, but also toggle it.
Hats and Scarves: What I mean are little trinkets that can be added. For instance, rims and bumpers for your LAV. A little space antennae or beefy pauldrons for your dropsuit.
Merc Quarter Additions: Plenty of threads about this
Sidearm: So when we're roaming in the War Barge or MQ, basically a holstered weapon of choice would appear on your avatar. Saw a thread on it somewhere.
Anyways, these are just merely things that would entice me. Use these examples to jump start your vanity game CCP! Because Aurum for vanity is the best use of it, as it's not controversial and would draw a crowd.
