So I played a match of skirmish early this morning and people were calling in their vehicles as usual. this guy named Detective Scroats calls in a Militia dropship. I call in my gunnlogi. Scroats takes off in his dropships, circles around and then lands it again obviously trying to get me to get in... Then my RDV arrives.
The RDV drop my gunnlogi right on top of his dropship and blows it up. Shocked, i run over to my tank fearing the same end. Deteective Scroats then jumps into my, because i have know way to stop him, before I am able to. He then steals my tank. I spend the next 10mins try to get him out of my tank.
I messege the team, I use the team comms, I send him personal mail. After 5 minuteus of this he responds, "Buy me a new dropship."
I said I would, frantically, but then he decides to drive my tank STRAIGHT into an enemy tank and gets it blown up. After that he called in another militia dropship.
CCP how can I protect my investments from players wishing to grief me?I lost a tank work over 1mil isk because of that, and none of it was my fault. |

yep, tank pilots and blue dots don't get along, seriously they are the most common way to lose a tank in the game, blue dots do more damage to your team then they do enemy teams. |

When I buy a vehicle in Dust, it's a damn free for all and anyone can take it.

Sorry I'll take my ass hat off
I actually agree it pisses me off to, a simple fix would be a 5 or 10 second timer that locks it when first deployed

They currently (or used to, don't know if it was changed) have a 2-3 sec timer where only the owner can get in. It's pretty negligible, but it's there if you don't run miles away after calling it in. |

When you call in a vehicle, two things happen:
1. It goes in the queue with an "estimated" delivery time of 15 seconds. 2. It has a 20-second "lock" timer that counts down.
Vehicles are called in sequentially, and the game sometimes randomly delays their arrival without another RDV request that would explain the delay. If this happens, your lock timer expires before the vehicle arrives, making it a free vehicle to the first blue that reaches it.
What SHOULD happen is that, instead of activating the timer as soon as you queue your tank (or whatever it is), it activates a 5-second timer when the RDV lets go of the vehicle. |

Okay buddy, not being nasty and I say this with the utmost respect to you. But this is a different kind of universe and here are our rules, taken from the general thread:
1. Adapt or Die. This cannot be stressed enough. Learn it. Live it. Love it.
2. Do not under any circumstance use what you cannot afford to lose. If you do it anyways, you are taking a big risk and CCP will just point and laugh at you with the rest of the community. Not every game you play needs a proto suit.
3. If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam. Scams have been a common occurrence since Eve Online began and there is no doubt Dust can see this happening already. If you fall for a scam, it's not CCP's fault nor that of the community. You were just too stupid to do your research before falling for it. Again, you will be laughed at. Oh, and scams are allowed in the game.
4. Do not underestimate the organizational capacity of the inhabitants of New Eden (in both Eve and Dust). You will be surprised and amazed at what this community can do already. Yeah, we love New Eden that much. We even have the capacity to burn our own economy if we want. The last time anyone did that, CCP just stood by and ate popcorn while the carebears cried for help. Cry me a river, Justin Timberlake. Cry me a river.
5. Do not trust anyone but yourself. It's not a matter of if you'll get back stabbed. It's only a matter of when. When you do get back stabbed, pray that you are ready by then.
6. Skill Points mean nothing if the user doesn't know what he's doing.
I advise you leave if you can't handle it. However, if you think you can, embrace i and welcome to one of the most amazing games in the world. |

This is your fault. You brought in 1 mill ISK worth equipment into a PUB match without taking precautions. Why on earth would you do that with a bunch of anons around?
CCP has provided a safe way to bring this stuff into the field...use that method.
Also your "griefer" took out an enemy tank....he can't be all bad. |

I can afford MY tank. That random blue obviously cannot. I know what I'm doing when I call in MY tank. That random blue obviously did not. I have the skills for MY tank. That random blue did not.
So that rule of only fly/use what you can afford to lose doesn't apply here as I was'nt the one flying/driving it. When I lose my ship in Eve it's because of my stupidity, not someone else's. That's the difference here. I had no control.

What? what other precaution can be taken other than not calling it in? What method has CCP provided to safely bring vehicles into the field? The RDVs? no, cause they crash into stuff and blow them selves all on their own. so what are you talking about? Please share and enlighten me. |

Unless you're actually buying the tanks while in the field.... it sits and waits for you in your personal asset storage facility (probably located on the same station as your merc quarters) |

That just seems wrong. but I guess CCP wants us to become less team oriented. If that's the case then just give me the ability to lock my doors and keep people out of my tank. |

Only call in equipment when there is no one around. I thought i made that pretty clear. Guess not.
First Spawn usually clears of people in like 20 seconds...if not then simply run in a direction away from people then when you are clear bring it down.
You control when and where the drop happens...so it is your fault if you put your 1 mil ISK tank down at the wrong place at the wrong time. |

No a simple fix would be to key the drivers seat to the person who called it in. Make it transferable so they could assign it to a squadmate, though aside from that, no one should be able to get into the drivers seat without hacking the damn thing. |
