Greetings fellow Dusters,
During one of my live stream sessions I found a interesting anomaly where people kept spawning at a point area with no appearance of a Droplink.
Here is the highlight clip, runs for 3m25 seconds: http://www.twitch.tv/daopa/c/2196246
I kept looking around for a Droplink but nothing was showing up.
Thanks for viewing and any comments.

Yep. This happens all the time. There were several display changes for both the overhead map and the mini-map.
Previously one could actually watch the little ant-like mercenaries chasing each other on the overhead view. Now they are missing in action. You can still see the fire from an HMG, missiles and lasers. The Mercs themselves show up as little shimmering bits. Not very useful and that was probably the purpose of the change.
Also all the remote explosives, proximity mines, hives and uplinks were clearly visible. However, that was actually incorrect. Some uplinks are tied to a squad and only squad members can use it thus only squad members should be able to see it. What happens is that all deployable devices might need to be discovered by someone to enable being seen.
Which is all interesting but it means you have to hunt for both hives and uplinks. Sometimes regardless of whether they are Blue or Red. |

I liked watching the snipers moving around in the overhead map. Ooh, let's go there. That would be a great spot to take that sniper out.

Shorter, clearer explanation: There's a significant lag on when you should be able to see deployed equipment and when the game decides you can. Sometimes you have to hang around an area for quite a while before the thing you know exists starts existing.
Real pain in the ass when you know people are streaming out of an enemy uplink and end up walking over it three times before it decides it's ready to load in. |
