Just thought of this funny idea- Giving mercenaries the ability to have insurance. Like Eve players, Im not sure how it works in EVE, because I tried the trial and saw an Insurance tab or whatever.
Think about it, since we play everyday and risk our vehicles in every single match. Basically a 90% chance you will lose your vehicle in an ambush, a 85% chance you will lose a vehicle in Skirmish. Random data BTW... Us mercenaries can sign up for Insurance. I bet this would fix the Tankers problems with having so much less isk then everybody else. At least most tankers I talk to have no isk because they lose tanks all the time, and the cost of preparing tanks is millions of isk...
But the thought of Insurance on a merc is not a bad idea. You lost your tank in battle, you get paid or get another tank from Insurance. There would be some conditions though...

I would only go for this if their insurance also paid for any suits I lost to that tank and erased that death off my record. Otherwise, hell no! Too many tankers as it is, even with their supposed 'limited ISK'. We don't need to give them any more incentives to pull out their big iWin button. |

Nobody in their right mind would insure a mercenary for anything.
You insure against an unlikely catastrophic loss by spreading the risk among a large population.
Losing a tank is catastrophic, but also entirely likely and expected. The premiums for the policy would be higher than the replacement cost for the insurer to make anything out of the deal.
It's like insuring yourself against going to the grocery store every week. It makes no sense if you have to pay the premium yourself. |

If your premium is deducted at the end of every battle whether you use the insured vehicle or not, then I'd be all for it. |

Do we get a no claims bonus? Honestly, the insurance system in Eve is pretty broken and it'll be better for the economy in the long term if it isn't brought over to Dust. |

I'm selling clone insurance guys!!!!.... Just 10 mill upfront first and for the rest of the week ill make sure you get whatever isk you lose in pub matches!!  |
