I am by no means the best, or even a good tank driver. I have a nice fit for my gunnlogi but, I think it could be better. Just not sure how.
My current Blaster fitting:
High: 1 Heavy Converse Shield Booster 3 Azeotropic Shield Extenders 1 Surge Shield Reinforcement
Low: 1 Altered M-Type Nanofiber 1 Jovian fusion Powerplant
Turret: 1 AT-1 Cycled Missile Launcher 1 20GJ Scattered Neutron Blaster 1 80GJ Scattered Neutron Blaster
Any advice would be appreciated. |

I used to run with a large shield tank but have found the following fit great for both anti infantry and anti vehicle
Gunlogi High slots-heavy clarity ward shield booster , heavy azetropic ward shield extender , 3 surge shield hardeners
Low slotts - beta power expansion unit , power diognostic unit
Large turret - 80gj scattered neutron blaster
Small turret front - 20gj scattered neutron blaster Small turret top - 20gj stabalised neutron blaster.
This tank will take a bit of getting used to with all the micro manage ment but if you time it right you can have a constant 30% dammage reduction and the ability to acctivate all the mods for tanking serious av . |

I am a shield tanker as well and can tell you that you should not need the nanofiber, shield tanks are fast enough and this only increase your top speed. the jovian fusion power plant... same boat. small blaster are ok. now for the high slots there is no way you would ever want 3 shield extenders especially the light/low ones, those are meant for LAVs and dropships. that a major part of your survivability. while you might not have as much HP booster help more then just extenders so switch to a heavy extender and you will have about the same HP with 2 free slots surprise!! free slots for resistances and/or boosters depending on how you do your low slots. I do powergrid upgrades as shield tanks are weakest in that part and they help a lot on easy of fitting.
now just think about the choice between active resisters and passive. active for 10 seconds with a cooldown of 30 seconds with a 30% resist so only for heavy damage short time frames or passives with a 15%per with stacking penalty, with 2 that's just slightly under one active without having to worry about activating them for the whole time its deployed. choice is yours, most go passive for the easiness of not having a ton of modules to worry about while running and gunning.. but this is only for blasters.. to setup for rail there is somethings that help in other ways. |

I have 3 to 4 shield extenders on some of my gunnlogis. Make sure you get a Heavy Azerotropic Ward Shield Extender in that fit. Put a couple of Azeotropic Ward Shield Extenders (the light ones) too. Shield HAVs work much better with railguns since PG is the limiting factor. You'll be close to enemy AV, and that means you'll be taking some damage. The mechanic on passive shield resist mods is questionable. I never use them. You will also need the best shield booster you can fit.
You can fit PG mods to give you better survivability, and you'll probably need that if you're using a blaster turret. Use small turrets for fitting purposes only.
I have anymore gunnlogi w/blaster turrets because for about 2 weeks of SP you can have an armor tank with a blaster which can kick your gunnlogi's ass any day. Shield tanks have an advantage in HAV vs HAV combat, but armor tanks have a clear advantage in HAV vs Infantry. |

ladwar wrote:try harder you clearly outlined a rail tank, not a blaster tank. Nah, I just refitted a gunnlogi to double check. Scattered Neutron Blaster, 2x small missile turrets, 3x shield extenders, 1x booster.
Low slots can be many different things. You can drop a "light" shield extender if you'd like to fit a damage mod. The last high slot can also be many different things. Active heat sink, another shield extender, a shield hardener, the choice is up to you.
There are many HAV threads on this forum, and Caeli put up a normal rail fit in the general forums. (It's liked in one of the tank threads here.) |

Raw hp is good for rail tanking but I think the fit I described is quite meaty and I can go 6 or 7 skirmiskes in before I loose one of the builds I mentiond. |

Yea the stabalised blaster gives my top gunner a bit more range and makes it easyer for them to hit thise pesky malitia av rambos that often try to get above me . I only put the stabalised blasters on because one of my gunbers prefers them . All the gunners in my corp have turret skills and proficiencys so most small turrets (even the malitia ones) pack a punch . |

dropships, if your to close to the close prepare for small arms fire and av nades so you range yourself thus giving stabalised a place to be used. if a small turret gunner is trying to hit something out of range then that's not why I put them there on my HAV, my turret will smash them just fine. I put small turrets mostly because I have to so I put them for what I need most close personal non AV annoyances and for other vehicles like LAVs which like to ram me. I don't need my small turrets to have much range. |

the quick firing small missle turret ( dont know its name) on the front of a tank adds a hell of alot of DPS when taking out instalations/tanks
the blaster on the top is for me when i dont want ot risk getting out of my poor tank when some random fool with a swarm launcher trys to sneak up on my in the mountains |
