As in, taking dirt, moving somewhere else. I think this could work in a way similar to From Dust (lol). Anyway, you could pick up earth, then place it somewhere else, or take explosives and blow up mountains etc. Any earth places or taken away would create a traversable slope, but would still be effective a a moat/wall/hill etc. This could add cool things like fortresses with moats that can be easily traversed by a removable bridge, or a castle on a hill that is easily defendable. |

Far too intensive to be viable. It would be interesting, but the ability to shape the ground of thousands of districts? |

If their generating thousands of districts, there can incorporate a few changes. Besides, it's not like all the districts will have their own maps, will they? |

It could be more viable in Dust like being able to deploy collapsible bridges, using demolition to bore holes in the terrain for trenches, or deploying spike strips to make LAV skid out of control. (even more lol) |

(even more lol) That could lead to some cool situations, like a brige pulling out from under some infantry, or an out of control LAV crashing into a proto HAV. The lols would be endless. |

I had an interview with CCP's Mr Touborg about orbital bombardments in January. We got to talking about level 4 strikes and what that would mean for planets in a sandbox game and he had this to say:
Quote: The ideal situation for me is that it would end the map instantly for everybody. I'd like the planet to turn black. I'd like you to not be able to interact with it. Perhaps at that point we'll have some kind of terraforming unit in EVE Online and maybe you have to go back and repair the planet and this would take time but it should be like the final solution that there's no going back to without putting some effort into it
Article
It seems like terraforming is at least in the minds of the team, but probably not DUST side, and probably not in the way you have described. :) |

I think this could negatively impact the way we play. Currently we run around and for the most part aren't able to get stuck on the maps in too many places. This would allow an enterprising merc to battle trap a district for their team to reduce the efficiency of vehicular movement and would allow for booby trapping of an area just by riddling it with 3ft deep holes that a heavy wouldn't be able to jump out of. Be careful what you wish for because you just may get it... |

Even if it would work, (which it would not), this would take way to much work. |
