CCP Eterne wrote: New Caldari GÇô In an address broadcast across the Caldari State, Executor Tibus Heth proclaimed his desire to GÇ£unify the Caldari peopleGÇ¥ and abolish the GÇ£divisive system that has led us astray.GÇ¥ He went on to attack what he proclaimed GÇ£individuals and groups who cling to foreign influences that have wormed their way into our core and must be purged through any means necessary.GÇ¥
GÇ£If we are to survive, we must have a single solidified State,GÇ¥ Heth said. GÇ£The stability of the Caldari people depends on us working together, not at odds. We must preserve the cores of what make us Caldari. We must not allow the work of foreign elements continue to break us apart.
GÇ£There was a time, centuries ago, when the Caldari people stood free. We all know the name of the Raata Empire. It is the source from which springs much of our great culture. We regularly invoke its name when we wish to impart legitimacy to endeavors. And yet what does the State today have that the Raata lacked?
GÇ£Artificial divisions, broken along corporate lines. If you asked a Raata who they were, they would answer Caldari. They would not say Ishukone, or SuVee, or Hyasyoda, or any other. They were Caldari. I am Caldari. You all are Caldari. But there are those, such as I just named, who tell you differently. And then, they sell our people out to our enemies.
GÇ£Tell me, when did the corporate identity become the Caldari identity? It was only after the Gallente began enforcing their culture on our own. Why do we continue to accept this perversion of our past, when we give so much credence to our heritage otherwise? It is time to do away with all the foreign influences in our culture.
GÇ£Ishukone sells our people out to the Gallente. They sold half our planet to invading conquerors. Then Sukuuvestaa helped them, while other megacorporations who supposedly believe in the Caldari people agree with them. It is shameful and only serves to weaken the Caldari people.
GÇ£It is time for the Caldari people to remember what it means to be Caldari. It is not blind loyalty to a corporation. It is kinship with your fellows above all outsiders. This is the way forward. It is the only way if we are to remain great.GÇ¥
As of press time, no megacorps have issued a response to Heth's speech.

I guess it's time for Caldari to bid adieu to their mega-corporate system and welcome their new tyrannical overlords. I guess he really does hate Gallente more than he loves Caldari Prime. Going to these lengths and all that....
I wonder what's other people's opinions on these matters... |

I am a wolf, not a blind sheep shepard Tibus.
I died for your war and you granted me nothing in return.
Ishkone brought me life and true freedom,
I no longer fear you, and the hate is still there.

Great, all the Caldari need is a full blown civil war when they should be united against the Gallente. |

Those are true words. We Minmatar know that we have our own tribal identities, but when dealing with external threats, we are all Minmatar.
I hope for the best for the Caldari population. |

That's what they set themselves to do when they went on to take Caldari Prime back at the One-Day War. It only lasted them 5 years. So, why even bother fighting each other hen they could end this war on more peaceful terms? Caldari people have the Gallente public opinion on their side when it comes to Caldari Prime, so it would be wise to call off hostilities in a more permanent form while the Gallente think of peace as a better solution to all problems.
There is also the matter that a full-on war between Caldari and Gallente would have both vulnerable to the other two (even if they are officially allies and also wary to the other faction's plausible enemy), so it's not like it's in the best interest of Caldari or Gallente to call forth the war machine into full grind towards one another. It would mean the end of both most likely. |

But, if he does try to abolish the CEP, and, by extension, then decides to nationalize Ishukone (not only that one, but other Liberal or Practical Megas, like SuVee and Hyasyoda) what makes you think that these Megas would not want to secede from the Caldari State? Granted, the Caldari Navy is currently working under the Caldari Provincial Directorate, so they might not have the forces to work it out, but that would not mean that Ishukone nor any other Megas under threat are not without allies in the Navy.
The problem is, what would happen if, all of a sudden, we are faced with a divided Caldari with possible seceding member Megas seeking the aid of the Fed in order to protect their corporate territory? I doubt that they would secede, nor ask the Fed of all Empires for aid in securing their space, but you can't disregard this possibility with the current face of the State being so volatile.
One thing is certain, though, if the money is good, I might consider partaking in this civil war. Or better yet, in an assassination attempt at Tibus Heth himself. I think that'd be better overall fo all parties involved in this matter, that is, all of the Megas and Heth...
...well...
...not so much Heth. |
