Okay I feel as though many people still have questions about the refund. After reading this dev blog, I would like to offer my opinion into this subject.
So to start, "When the upcoming Uprising build is released on May 6, your character(s) will be reimbursed all the skill points that they have earned and used to date, for redistribution under the new schema." What this means is that on May 6th, when they new build is released, you will receive all the skill points you have received thus far. (That number in white above unallocated skill points? That is the amount of skill points you will receive. back)
Now to address the ISK and AUR portion.
"Note that this re-spec only applies to your current skills, and items that you have in your inventory. The refund value of ISK and AUR items will be based on the market value at the time of the re-spec."
So long story short, we will NOT be keeping all our salvage (Sad face right?). I personally am only disappointed that I will be losing my Balacs and Krins AR but thats me. For the ISK, all those dropships you have? The ones worth 400K ISK each? You are gonna get the ISK value of those, along with everything else. I don't know about you guys, but I have over 50 mil of ISK coming back to me.
Now to address the second biggest issue next to skill points, AUR. Notice above it states "The refund value of ISK and AUR items will be based on the market value at the time of the re-spec" So for any of you closed beta vets such as myself, you probably bought the militia blueprints, or at least some of them, at like 50 AUR for the militia nanite injector. Now the militia nanite costs like 7,800 AUR. So instead of us elder berries getting 50 AUR back, we are going to get 7,800 AUR back.
Feel free to disagree with me, as this is just my opinion and perception of this. |

Unfortunately, only gear that deemed changed too much will get refunded. I'm guessing since militia gear has no pre skills to use them, no militia gear will get refunded. |

Unless they've decided to remove militia BPO's from the game you're not getting jack for them. They don't even require any skills to use so why would you think you would get refunded anything? And the blog doesn't say anything about items changing too much. It says if it is removed from your inventory you'll get a refund. So if the item still exists in the game you're not going to get a refund no matter how much it changes. Because if you don't want to use it anymore you can just wait and sell it on the market whenever that's up an running. |

You bring up a good point about items being removed from our inventory. I assumed that they would be wiping out all our inventory. I could very easily be wrong, considering that is an assumption. Although if they do remove the BPOs from our inventory, without removing them from the game, according to the dev blog we should be getting the AUR value of them back. |

This isn't a reset in any way so they're not going to be removing your inventory. I believe it was in the IRC where one of the DEVS explained that they originally intended to just move our SP around to the new skills automatically (this is how they usually do it in EVE unless skills are actually being removed) but realized the coding required to do that would be far too time consuming so they are simply going to unallocate all SP whether the skill changed or not and refund all ISK spent on skill books. Since the new suits have racial bonuses all of the current suits will be removed from the game so you should be getting a refund on those.
Again, this is unofficial since there's no specifics yet but I think it is pretty much how it's going to go. |
