Yea I figured, but seriously why add something in a trailer that wont be added in the game any time soon Becuase like the eve future trailer, its a trailer for a game that won't come out for Years. Don't expect pve for 6 months. Even if you ste only here becuase the trailer from 4 months ago showed it as a core feature. Ccp....
Yea wy show it in a trailer if its not even on the drawing board, just in their mindset. We now how long that takes Soon ( get it ). |

Actually, unlike the Forge Gun the Plasma cannon will have a firing arc. So you can't snipe tanks. |

Because it's not like 75% of player's spec assault already..... What new heavy weapons? I thought both the Plasma launcher and Scrambler Rifle were light weapons? Then the Flintlock is a sidearm... Plasma launchers a heavy weapon...insnt it?... ISNT IT!!! I hate to be the one to break it to you...but no sir it is not. It's a light AV weapon with dumbfire. Have a listen to the latest merc cast episode for Dev confirmation. In other bad news for heavys.....No more Heavy weapon sharpshooter skill. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *breaths* OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!Why CCP Why!!!!! Oh hush, it's still got a charge up timer to it and it's Operation skill even reduces the timer. So much for "dumb-fire". Dumb-fire refers to the lack of an intelligent guidance system on either the weapon system or projectile, so sorry bud but regardless of a minimal charge time it still has no guidance system therefore it is "Dumb-fire".

Agreed. Proper PVE is as important a foundation for establishing Dust as an MMO as is PC. |

beg for drones.
why?
because asking for zombies would just be too obvious.

Bassmeant, you keep beating your dead horse here. Some people like variety. I've played many a shooter, and many a game.
People want a game that has more game to it. This does not mean they suck, nor does it mean they care what you think. Pve will be a big part of Dust. Deal with it. Pve needs to be a big part of dust.
Now, run along, and don't measure your epeen so much, it's unbecoming of a child such as yourself. Please let the adults talk about future content updates. |

+1
It would also be nice to throw higsec/FW PVE in the mercenary tab in addition to making the drones attack PC districts.
PC is very, very important, but it is also very important to remember that perhaps 80% of the player base will have little or nothing to do with PC either because they aren't in a PC-capable corp or because their corp is huge and there aren't enough opportunities for everyone in their corp to participate. |

They already stated that we won't be gaining SP from them.
They'll be used solely for ISK farming unless:
They're going to be shoe-horned in as random opposition for planetary conquest when no-one owns the district so that you're fighting SOMETHING for the territory.
You will learn absolutely nothing from fighting against them as they are not going to be cognitive, thinking enemies - patterns will develop and once they are learned, everyone and their mother is going to use the same fitting/tactic over and over again, creating an insanely bland, boring experience.
I have to disagree.
Dust desperately needs a "training" mode in which new players can blow themselves up without getting totally steamrolled by sharks and kaijus.
It takes a special kind of nutcase to try to learn anything beyond "run-and-gun" with an AR when you keep getting stomped by squads of guys who have 10M more SP than you.
These battles should give SP and ISK, just at a slower rate than pub matches. That way, new players can get a chance to get their feet wet, trainers can have a *marginally* safer place to teach, and the big boys will have fewer blueberries clogging up their AFK farming. |

Dumb-fire is almost universally recognized as "point-and-shoot" and while having a guidance system does technically make it a 'smart weapon', in this case it was intended to be more like the original Swarm Launcher from June/July 2012 in that it didn't require a lock-on, let alone a lock-on on a vehicle signature. This is Charge-Fire, requiring an additional process to the firing mechanism.
The entire premise of having a 'noob tube' is that it's an extra measure for new players can face off with the veterans without needing as much SP. Every FPS has this, be it Halo (rocket launcher), CoD (RPG) and even the Battlefield franchise (standard Anti-Tank class in Battlefield 2). If the opposition is running a bunch of dropsuits that put me at a severe disadvantage, I should have something to fall back on. The Plasma Cannon seemed like that was going to be it, but alas it's now a charge-fire weapon.
I hate having to charge up a weapon and I hate having to lock-on in order to get the explosives down range. I would MUCH prefer a dumb-fire weapon, even at the cost of fire rate than having to put myself in a vulnerable position by charging the damned thing. Being as this is intended for use on Scout/Assault/Logistics, it's even more silly to stand around charging the weapon and allowing yourself to take fire when compared to the Heavy who can absorb a lot of damage to get the round down range. |

1. Plasma Cannon is confirmed to be a short-range weapon. The damage falloff is pretty harsh based on the Sisi datamined description, and the same info is pretty strongly implied by official word about the weapon. Pretty sure it'll be almost insanely out-ranged by the Forge Gun.
2. Plasma weapons are energy damage, much like lasers. The Plasma Cannon is confirmed to follow this basic premise, and deals much more damage to shields, and less to armour. As a Hybrid, the Forge Gun will deal much more damage against enemy armour once the shields are down.
3. We don't have hard numbers on damage between the two weapons. I can't see the Plasma Cannon dealin significantly more damage - even against shields - than a Forge Gun.
4. We don't have hard numbers on charge time or the reduction provided by skills yet either.
5. Projectile speed is higher on the Forge Gun.
6. Plasma Cannon shots aren't direct-fire, and you have to account for projectile drop over distance. Forge Gun blasts travel straight. |

Disagree. Plasma Cannon looks, sounds and just generally seems to be Gallentean. Forge Gun is Caldari, as evidenced here:
http://www.dust514.org/item-database/item/dcma-s-1-forge-gun
Caldari Hybrid style is more based on range and while it's true that the Forge Gun does have some nice range (600m approximately) it should NOT have more damage than a Plasma Cannon. The Forge Gun, technically, should have a high range with a fast rate of fire as compared to Artillery (which we do not currently have) which would have similar ranges, incredibly high damage and a low rate of fire.
In fact, as far as racial subtypes go, the Plasma Cannon should have the shortest range with the highest damage due to it's design and manufacturer.
If it has a charge up with less range/damage than the Forge Gun, it's going to be a major let down as there are better alternatives to AV warfare. A lock-on style Swarm Launcher has high range and can pump out a lot of damage, the Forge Gun is the same way. If the Plasma Cannon is intended to be a gimped up version of the Forge Gun, there's going to be little appeal in using it over the Swarm Launcher. |

Nah, it's just an issue because there's absolutely nothing to do in this game if you're not in some big-time corporation that has members to field in all the gameplay features that REQUIRE more than one person.

Only reason why I want drones, is because its another game mode, from these easy kills in pub matches and dumb ass blueberries in skirmish. Have to carry these guys each match. Its a hard not life coming in top place while your team gets destroyed in ambush. Thats if you solo... Right Bassement
