I think there will be 100s of types of weapons and vehicles. Possibly for next gen there will be 100 vs 100 player battles. If not next gen the generation after that.
I think the battles will be much deeper. We wil most likey be able to destroy eve ships and see them flying overhead in space.
In 10 years, dust will be epic. But we need to keep it alive for this to happen. |

Some things I can see happening:
- Market
- PvE (ratting, incursions, missions, epic arcs)
- hopefully some open-world stuff
- meaningful sovereignty, both on planets and influencing system sovereignty
- dozens more vehicles, dropsuits, and weapons including both completely different types and navy/pirate/T2 variants of the ones we have now
- Something similar to T3 customizability, probably for weapons and certain vehicles.
- means of either passively or actively accruing construction materials
- means of construction (why shouldn't my DUST toon be just as capable of industry as my EVE toon!?)
- walking in stations
- capacitor for vehicles, eWar for vehicles and infantry
- orbital bombardment from bigger ships
- ship boarding (handle this one carefully!)

I think in ten years, it will be played using, for controller, two small handheld devices sensitive to the movement of each finger (essentially tiny, kick-ass versions of ps3 controllers)
For graphics there will be wrap-around glasses. They will have the added feature that you can wear them while playing paintball and they will put the red hats, blueberries, etc on the glasses while they allow you to see the terrain as normal. And these games will be added to your online record.
They will be nearly ready to take it out of beta. |

Probably around the same amount of people if you take in account of the people who will eventually git bored of the game, goes away due to real life events like new child or military deployment, yet more will take their place such as 9 year old trollers that haven't been born yet right now and other finding out about this game through a variety of reasons.
Graphics will likely be realistic and 3D to the point that your in the animation itself where holographic representations of your friends, enemies, and environment will surround you.
Annnnd of course all bacon will be awesome as always. |

If the PS4 has the same roughly seven year life-cycle as as the PS3, we'll be about two years post-release of the PS5 in ten years. The PS6 even being announced at that point would be lucky! |

Ten years from Dust's birthday, I picture this:
Massively (along with many other gaming news sites) has posted the 'Dust 514 10th Anniversary' article.
Within it, they give a detailed look into the game's history, from its humble origins as an alpha, to the start of the closed beta with the Codex and Chromosome builds, to the onset of Open Beta, to the Battle of Caldari Prime(the 'staging' of which is still being debated to this day) and the Uprising build, and so on.
On all of the comment sections for each news site, some of the readers are debating over one simple question: "How in the hell is this console fps still alive?!"
The answer? The developers who make the game, and the fans who support it.
"Takes a bite out of a chocolate pop-tart"
Lets make that happen, shall we? :) |

In 10 years I Dust will be established enough to inspire a creative renaissance in the failing FPS genre. Dedicated CoD players will wake up from their dreams of instant gratification provided by Activision, forcing them to finally change their formula to adapt, or be left behind in the growing competition. Classic IPs will be revived, rebooted, bringing back beloved features from their treasured heritage while adding a new age spin that will be accepted by gamers, young and old. Players will be rewarded for exploring maps for hidden areas instead of being lead on a series of rails with cutscenes and quick time events to break up the mindless monotony. Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, SOCOM, and Rainbow Six will be household names again, warranting relevance when the current leader of the NRA brings them up to defend the right to bear arms. These won't be just good times for Dust, but good times for competitive gaming!
....
Wow, I think I got lost in the moment for a second...
Anyway, Dust should probably be at a point where all the potential we all are hoping for now will be reached. Planetary Conquest will be as cutthroat as ever with all the meta gaming drama that we hear horror stories about in EVE. Spying, treachery, corporate scandals, piracy and all out war that won't just be limited to fighting on planets that for some reason share different variations of Line Harvest, Ashland, Manus Peak, Skim Junction, and "The Complex." Titan class ship pilots will have more to be afraid of when a lone enemy Frigate manages to break through their convoy and launch a set of pods full of mercenaries that will fight their way into the monolith of a ship to it's core, blowing it up from the inside out.

I would look back on EvE and see its progress as an idea of how Dust will progress
Having been with EvE for nearly 10 years the changes have been massive but its still the same game it was all that time ago its just more polished with added depth
My biggest hope is that its moved to other platforms inc the pc, we are going to need more players when we have the whole of EvE to play on - dont get me wrong i loved EvE when there was under 4k players but i do see the same names abit too often currently
I do expect more suits types, more options to customize those suits and a shed load of new skills, some more Vehicles might be talking about custom maps by then EvE pilots would create their own districts as in build the maps for Dust each one would be different When attacking a district, choice of where to land and place their MCC Defence structures in a district, this time built and paid for by Dust bunnies (yes this means joint ownership of districts) empire space has a friendly fire police system, no idea how that would be implemented yet, should not punish the team with a kill but could reduce war points Loot would be assigned based on what was brought to the fight say 30% of items drop suit cant be included and then assigned out based on war points
Dust bunnies can build and run their own stations at planets they maintain sovereignty over All blue prints require resources and need to be built (only dust players can build)
All current players to be living in 0.0 where the real money is
Oh and Dust gets access to singularity for testing :D
balance, lag, market, AFK etc would all be resolved CCP is the king at getting things right and its always done SoonGäó |

In 10 years? I think we will probably be signing up for the Alpha/Beta of Creation 514. We've already done EVE ships in traditional MMO style, now FPS. Creation 514 will be a RTS game where we can build structures and start towns like in Sim City and colonize planets and create alot more objects in space and have a much greater overview of the entire galaxy. It will also be run on much more powerful servers and allow us to have AI empires, other ships and AI corps and drones under our control helping and hindering us, all of this will be important especially since we will finally be opening the path back home.....
So in Dust I see us getting to fight in these player built RTS cities and stations, Huge battles against AI as whatever evil faction arrises to challenge the universe begins invading cities and planets and trying to destroy everything. We will be crucial to the war effort and if we do not hold the ground then EVE ships will not be able to refit and fly. If they don't hold the air then we will be bombarded into dust. If Creation 514 doesn't keep all the overarching logistics supply chains running then all our empires will tumble down into the ground.
Edit: Or maybe the best title for the next game RTS will be Eden |
