"Mercs, are you tired of getting shot while trying to close in for a melee attack? Do you feel that your skills, modules, and weapons just aren't giving you that ninja-like edge in combat? Then CrazzyMerc (TM) is right for you!
Using our patented self-injection equipment, our proprietary blend of nanobots and steroids goes straight to your head, giving you the edge you need to take down the enemy!
Possible benefits of just one injection include: -increased movement and strafe speed -greatly increased sprint speed and duration -improved jump height and reduced fall damage -significantly stronger melee attacks (both with and without a weapon)
However, common side-effects include: -diminished weapon accuracy due to shaky hands -drastically increased sniper rifle sway -increased reload time due to fumbling with the magazine -blurry, hazy, or foggy vision -impaired hacking time due to diminished brain activity -inability or difficulty concerning the operation of vehicles and other heavy machinery -and in some variations a small, random chance of immediate heart failure upon injection
Ask your CCP Dev for CrazzyMerc (TM) TODAY!!
(Note: CrazzyMerc (TM) is not for everyone as many may find it to be overpowered or underpowered. Expected effects and side-effects vary between variations, so be sure to read each description thoroughly. Do not take CrazzyMerc (TM) if you are allergic to nanobots or Sleeper drone hydraulic fluid. The effects should wear off within a few seconds or minutes of injection, so multiple injections may be required. If the effects last more than four hours, stop taking CrazzyMerc (TM) and contact your clone manufacturer immediately.)"

its interesting would def be a nova knife user module. would have to use a cheap suit so it doesn't kill an expensive suit for a shot |

I'm thinking that most variations would be entirely safe, and that the small, random chance of instant death would only be attached to the really powerful variants that can, say, give a 200% bonus to melee damage or boost run speed by 70% as an interesting way to balance them. |

Thanks Wolf :)
Also, how many variations of this do you think there should be? Is there some hard number as to how many different types are allowed? |

They're called "boosters" in these parts. |

It like injections in far cry 3. I suggest they be consumables or cool down mods, and if consumable, need parts found in pve |

Maybe combine farming request thread with this idea? https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=68985
Then we get: crops -> boozters
I wonder if the word "boost" has any origin from the word "booze" I guess it does as booze boosts some actions...
Ex. If a district has vertical farming facility it can add some bonus/malus for mercs defending attacked district. +X% for armor +X% for damage +X% for stamina -X% for range -X% for accuracy -X% for scan range
It is a known military "tradition" to ingest various mind altering substances immediately before battle to induce kind of trance. One example are Norse warriors (wink wink CCP) known as Berserkers Quote:who are reported in the Old Norse literature to have fought in a nearly uncontrollable, trance-like fury, a characteristic which later gave rise to the English word berserk. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berserker |

SUGGESTION:
Forget self-injection for most, introduce logi equipment 'Stim-kit' |

I assuming that you are suggesting that this be something that you use on your team mates instead of yourself. I had thought of that, but it seemed too easy for people to use that in a way that isn't helpful, such as giving a stim to a sniper that increases run speed but decreases accuracy, either by accident or for griefing.
Can anyone see a (simple) way for it to work this way, or should it stay "self-injection"? |

Awesome post. Had me laughing and learning all at the same time.
Suggestions:
1) Have it deactivate TACNET for the duration of the effects. 2) The side effects last longer than the positive effects 3) Have tech variants that increase hacking speed, but once a hack is started, they can't move as their full attention is set to the hack |

Here's some preliminary stats that I cooked up for the main version, but I could use some help refining this, as well as coming up with other variations. (I also added this up by the original post)
Main version:
--Ninja brew-- =Activation time: 8 seconds =Duration: 45 seconds =Ammo: 8 injections
Bonuses: +40% sprint speed +80% endurance +60% jump height -80% fall damage +50% melee damage (with and without weapon, on top of existing multipliers)
Drawbacks: -70% hacking speed -120% weapon accuracy (much wider reticles) +200% reload time +150% sensitivity of all input while in vehicles (over-corrects and makes you drive crazy) = Could also carry a 1/20 chance to suicide you instantly upon injection (Not sure about this though, it could just get annoying).
How do these sound? |
