The word "Auschwitz" is the name of the N A Z I death camp (now a museum) in Germany that reportedly killed more Jews during WWII than any other such camps. It's not just a name. Someone chose to reveal their idiocy and show their disregard for the lost lives. Why are you getting your panties in a bunch? My serious answer is because it's a bunch of whining. You start with names because someone finds something offensive and end up with a game where unicorns throws marshmellows at each other because otherwise FPS promotes violence. I don't want you or anyone else impose restrictions on what I can name my character.
I understand people being against censorship, but censorship on a public gaming forum, where impressionable people can freely view player names, and censorship akin to Chairman Mao's reign over China are two different branches of two wholly different trees.
Take for example, (I have nothing against any body of people, btw) I made an alt called, 'Yanks are stereotypically stupid' or 'party on 9/11', people would be rightly up in arms, and so they should be.
Censoring information in the forums of news reports, radio broadcasts, et al, is wrong, a game on the other hand is not.
CCP is not a democracy, and we do not vote on their rules, so either abide by them or sadly gtfo. |

The AK-47 may have possibly been used in more wars and have killed more people than any other assault rifle in the world. Does this mean I cannot use it at all in any sort of naming? (I didnt here but I usually use the AK power somewhere) Oh wait, Commanders usually oversee battles, battles end up with people dead in the real world. I guess my name, too, is offensive :(
Technically no, as both sides have commanders, so by proxy you would not be offensive...
