So far, I've seen a lot of people agree with the Vehicles having to have the right skills to be used instead of just being called in and everyone allowed to use them. I personally believe it's a great idea as it makes no sense that players can use the tanks without any skills, could possibly elaborate it so that gunners actually require the right level of Turret skills to use the guns, but that's a thread for another day.
Why I mentioned this is simple, I'd like to see a system where you can salvage a body, bringing up a small menu which allows you to take the weapons, grenades, equipment and ammo from another player, be it friendly or enemy, that has been killed providing you have the skills to use it and the CPU and PG to fit them.
I feel it would allow for a more flexible battlefield where players can adapt quickly, allowing you to take the role of a fallen comrade in the heat of battle. Taking a weapon, equipment or grenades would replace the one you have and would get rid of the old one (As throwing it to the floor for anyone else to pick up would probably be too much of an issue for the game to handle).
If a player has the same weapon type as you, we should have the ability to take ammo from his body. It would make no sense restocking a Duvolle from a player that was running with a Swarm Launcher, but would definitely make sense to restock from another player with a Duvolle, right?
A lot of situations this would be beneficial for a player such as running around as using a downed AVers weapon to get the final shot on an enemy vehicle, or being supressed by a sniper, your squadmate dies trying to countersnipe so you simply pick the weapon up and continue his role, where is the problem when you are already skilled to use it?
Again I must stress that for this to work it must take into account the PG/CPU limits of the player, it would make no sense if you cannot fit a prototype weapon on your suit but could pick one up off the ground.

Good idea. But what would happen to the weapon you picked up after the battle? Would you keep that weapon? |

There is a suggestion somewhere for a sort of, Salvage Pool, you know, you have a chance to get an item from a dead player at the end of the game, if it was implemented I'd say the weapon you picked up must return the "salvage pool" and you receive your original weapon back, if ofcourse you survived throughout the entire game.

Nobody else interested? Gotta be said the lack of response makes me sad, I thought it was quite a good idea..
I thought we all wanted more freedom and choice and such during battle? |

Shameless bumping of an idea that could greatly improve the fluidity of the game and its player interaction. |

If you kill snipers in battle, it would be cool to salvaged what he had in terms of Prototype Sniper Rifles. Same goes for protoype assault infantry who kill other prototype assault infantry. If you use militia gear, you will only salvage militia gear. |

Aye, but this is not that topic. This is a suggestion to loot and use equipment in a battle. Let's say you have a decent suit that could fit a Duvolle Assault Rifle on it, but only have a Standard Assault Rifle, you kill someone who has a Duvolle Assault Rifle, you can go to his body, interact with it and select the Duvolle, dropping your Assault Rifle for theirs.
If you have no PG/CPU for a Duvolle Assault Rifle, and only fit a Standard Assault Rifle, when you finally kill someone with a Duvolle and try to loot it, you will not be able to equip it, so it will be marked as Invalid, unable to loot. |
