Did you get any WP?
If not, you've hit the SP cap.
After hitting the cap, you earn SP only for the WP you earned in battle, and even then you have a limit of 1000 SP you can earn. If you don't do anything, you don't get WP until the reset. |

It resets every Wednesday, I think (I'd have to check).
But if you're playing and not earning WPs, you're not actually doing anything, so you shouldn't really be getting any reward for that. You're already earning passive SP just for having a character. |

When i play after hitting the cap i make 1500 sp each time, so your doing it wrong.
The cap is in place so that people cannot grind this game 24/7 for a month and have everything, Dust is a marathon, not a sprint and if you only feel like playing when you get full SP you need to set your priorities straight as to why you love FPS games.
Personally i play for getting better at it and just for shooting people, like what you do in a shooter :) |

So you've spent two days AFKing, and it stopped earning you SP, so you don't want to "play" any more when you're not actually playing anyway?
If that's what really happened, cool story. Can I have your stuff? |

If you enjoy simply playing for the sake of playing, then there's your point. You still get the small amounts of SP, and you also get the normal amount of ISK and salvage.
And it's the way it is because of those people who'd hit the SP cap in a day. Not quite as fair to people who actually have to go to school/uni/work and don't have quite as much time to play as them. |

Judging by his previous threads on the forum I don't think this ones familiar enough with game mechanic's to know he can AFK. Much less what the term even means.
Although I was unable to translate the meaning from his last post so who knows. |

Salvage and ISK are progress. Without gear, you're not making the best use of your SP investments. |

Yea, it definitely can be, but it's worth it IMO. Just get in with a good corp that can teach you all the basics and you'll be a Tad bit safer from the pubstomps by running with a squad, as long as that squad is more experienced than you.
Also with uprising I think you'll find public matches less challenging. |

Also with uprising I think you'll find public matches less challenging. im perfectly able to kill pubstompers on my own...just the fact they will have 4 times the health i have and this stupid skill cap Not many - even the pubstompers - will have more than double the health of a well-fitted new player, but they often also have about 150% damage on top of the added health, which makes it feel like you're weaker than you are. You're using something that looks and sounds like the same gun, but doesn't hit as hard, while they also have more health to work with.
And yes, progress is slow, but it still only takes a couple of weeks to get to a reasonable level of durability and destructive capabilities, and while there's still a lot more you can improve, you should be on a better level to handle the tougher high-level opponents as well as the guys who are only there from grinding.
Also, sorry for starting off so rude. I'm a fan of the harsher end of EVE Online (even though I don't play) and DUST. I like a lot of the harsher elements, and sometimes (especially when I'm not in the best of health, like tonight) I let my manners slip more than they probably should. |

You claim to be perfectly able to deal with pubstompers on your own and in the same sentence cry about them having more HP than you because of they have invested more SP.
If you haven't heard the term yet look it up, HTFU and quit crying. |

You CAN be useful with your lower SP and less experience, and you WILL get there. There isn't a hard limit on how high someone's SP can go, but there's a limit where it stops providing direct advantage. Training into different elements in the game will give you advantages for certain scenarios, but if you have only a million SP and spend it all on buffing your Assault suits and ARs, and someone else has 5 million SP invested in Shotgun Scouts, if that 5 million SP guy runs an Assault with an AR, they won't have much - if any - advantage over you, because that's not where they invested their skills. SOME of the passives will help, but most of their skills will be irrelevant, and those which are relevant are things you'll have some SP in as well. |

People forget to mention one important thing.....you DO have 3 character slots. Make another character and go in a completely different direction than your main. This will allow you to expirement with other classes and specializations. It will keep the game fresh for you. If you played hard for 2 days and continue to do that with your other characters, your cap should be reached for all 3 in 6 days. Just in time for reset again. |

No problem. It'll let you try new weapons and/or vehicles. You may find that you really like that tank or that mass driver or that sniper rifle. You have alot of things to experiment on before May 6th rolls around. That is when your SP will matter on where you decide to put it. |

It's been confirmed, so yes. Grind to your heart's content with those ALTs until May 6 when the new update and reallocation comes.
Also, the weekly cap has a soft cap of 1000 SP per match (1500 SP if you activated an active booster) and it resets every Wednesday. New Eden is for players who are marathoners, not sprinters. So take your time. |

Nobody thought to mention that sometimes theres a bug that shows 0 SP 0 ISK at the end of a match?
After you've hit the cap (between ~360 and ~540k SP per week depending on whether you're using SP boosters or not) you'll get SP at a rate of 1 SP per WP up to 1000 SP. IF you got 0, and you got WP, then I would suggest that it was a bug and you should keep playing as per normal |
