deployable equipment, multiple types.
Drone skill: allows Player to field drones in combat(recon at 1, point drones at 3 and repair drones at 5)
Drone Upgrades: decreases CPU cost of drones by 5% per level.
Drone Shielding Studies: increases shielding of drone units by 3% per level
Drone Armor Studies: Increases armor of drone units by 3% per level
Recon drone scanning: Increases scan precision of recon drones by 5% per level
Recon Drone: after being deployed takes to the skies and marks enemies on the mini-map within a certain radius that have a signature over a certain amount(basically, a sprinting scout with no scan dampening mods will be spotted, but you can simply LOS or hold still and it won't spot you at low levels, at proto you will need to either LOS them or equip some serious dampener mods) Recon drones can be shot down(provides some points to the one who killed it)
Point Drone Deployment: Increases drone's accuracy by 5% per level
Point Drone: designed to hold a point, basically a hovering micro-turret that will seek it's own targets, deals decent damage(smg-ish) with a decent fire rate(bout 2/3 of a assault rifle) basically a deployable, weak version of a heavy, that can't move. Can be healed using a repair tool, counts as an installation/vehicle for tool type purposes. the gun gets slightly stronger and significantly faster(by about 5% stronger, and 10% faster) at proto the gun can be flanked as it has a fairly slow tracking rate(upgrades to slightly faster on the way to proto)
Repair Drone Fielding: Increases the amount healed to targets and range of drones by 5% per level
Repair drones: releases 1-3(standard-proto level) repair drones that heal targets(can be assigned by using L1, or left to their own devices and will seek out targets within 25 meters(30 at maximum skill) the drones must remain within 5M of target to repair. if target leaves area the drones will return to the player. Each drone can be shot out of the air, and each heals at about 1/3 the rate of a same level repair tool and variant.
Each drone is a single unit to use(except for the repair drones, which are deployed as a single unit, but split into 2/3 depending on gear level adv/proto) all can be replaced by a supply depot/nanohive(uses up a lot of clusters) If you deploy more, then the old ones die/ fail due to severed connection(the suits can only run so much at once or something that sounds lore-y)
Ideas? has this already been suggested? too OP?
EDIT:Damn it all. already on the forums(though in a different form) everyone keeps suggesting ideas I think of before me.
actually, on an actual read through, its almost entirely different. |

done and done. Don't like the idea of adding an entire vehicle to the game(and a flying one at that, those will get kitten-slapped right out of the sky if you want to be within range to support your team and the other is awake)
although, for these, a gallente suit(maybe their logistic type suit or a variation thereof?) would probably get bonuses to output/efficiency(cpu/pg reqs) for them.
then again, I primarily play infantry, and love to punch vehicles right off the field any time I see them. |

Dropsuits are 10x times less durable then any vehicle so didn't really see the since in that plus they rely on cloaking modules to hide. You can't hit what you can't see and drone control for dropsuits seem a little weird because drones are larger then probably the average dropsuit. |

dropsuits don't take over 2000 damage from a swarm launcher and get crashed into a mountain. not to mention, I was thinking smaller drones(save for the point drone, it has to be big enough to be targeted properly, and to explain why it doesn't run out of ammo{onboard nanohive to generate it's own ammo?})
and any lock or being within 2km of ANYTHING hostile breaks cloak on ships so your point is what? |
