A prone function would be nice but the ability to fall down like your dead after a sniper shot wizzes by your head would be great for attempting to avoid sniper fire. Would make snipers have to decide whether they want to double tap or not. |

Imagine a shot gunner doing this near a Null Cannon in Skirmish, then just 'camping' untill he sees you and then shoots you in the back of the head... |

I just want to point out, Warpoints flash on the screen for a few seconds if you get a kill. So any good sniper will know too 'double tap' |

Still, going prone would be nice especially with the vegetation coming in uprising. I can see it now, crawling through the grass to make it to the distant objective without getting mowed down by snipers. Of course than an LAV comes along minding its own business and gets a surprise kill +50.
In short: prone = yes, possum = no |

Yes, but "sometimes" they apparently don't This "play deadf" upon activation would shut down player name and stats normally displayed above characters for limited time. 5-10 sec. A merc imposting demise would see it...
Maybe tie it with a skill? Evasive maneuvers? Group it with vigor, mobility, endurance and hand to hand combat? |

This is an age old tactic in video game history and historically it has always backfired on me. All the enemy has to do when they pass by a dead body is just shoot it to be sure. I remember going prone when I played Ghost Recon on the PC when I was a little kid and it only took a couple of minutes for the other players to catch on and started shooting at dead corpses. |

Also, in DUST, we have sensor systems that mark active enemy Dropsuits, so unless you power down (disabling your shields) while playing dead, it's not going to work. And if they can pick up life signs, you're still kittened.
And if you power down your suit, many of which can only see through cameras and sensors, I'm imagining it will be very difficult to know when it's time to power the suit back up to catch someone off-guard. |

This will work for about ten minutes until everyone catches on and then it will be a source for Lulz among us elderberries as we kill new people who think they are clever |

Prone = No Possum = Yes
I don't care if play dead -trick works rarely. It's still an option. So +1 for op.

It wouldn't really work- your dropsuit is still giving off a sig, so everyone will still see you're alive. |

umm no snipers can tell if you are dead or not for one a kill poops up >_> for two when you die at range you disapear to us we see a small blood splash and maybe an animation of death and then they disapear
so besides a prone function would suck it also looks really stupid >_> a big heavy isn't going to be able to get back up without a freakin crane if he went into a prone position
one thing i would like to see though is your line of sight stays with your suit when you die you don't just flop over you actually stay in your suit... of course this would encourage face tea baggings but whatever who cares about that you hardly have time for that in this game anyways someone tried to do that to me and got shot off of me by a heavy rounding a corner |
