This is coming out of nowhere - but would it not be cool if certain guns received a bonus ability upon reaching a certain level of operations/proficiency in that given gun's skill? Whether that is Operations V or Proficiency III or V ow anything, some reasonable skill level that made a gun more effective for its dedicated users.
A suggestion would be upon obtaining Swarm Launcher Proficiency V you would be able to dumb-fire the swarm launcher.
A similar one would be with Assault Rifle Proficiency V you receive a 10% damage bonus for head shots when in a crouched position while using an assault rifle.
Obviously others who know the mechanics of this game would have more realistic ideas and ways this could be added to the game - just was an idea. |

I wouldn't mind seeing alternate stuff. Like if you have a higher AR skill you can modify the gun. Switch firing modes, switch ammo types, switch out parts like scopes and attachments,
I think this would be a good idea actually. It will a greater desire to skill up a skill and side skills rather then just getting a new gun. Ranking up to 4 in AR Sharpshooter allows you to swap out scopes, The max Ammo skill allows you to swap ammo types or switch firing modes. etc etc. |

Yeah - I was just thinking of an incentive that was not exactly easy to obtain and rewarded a focus in a particular weapon. Every weapon could have something and it wouldn't be anything game breaking - just a little something special that was fun. |

I think if you have completely maxed a weapon and a light weapon skill e.g weapon capacity then you should be able to modify something like magazine size in a similar manner to officer weapon. So with the example given you can increase clip size to 72 rounds.
Light Weapon Upgrade could give a 'slight' increase to damage. Rapid Reload could increase rpm from 750 to 800 Sharpshooter could modify the sights e.g red-dot or firing mode.
These examples are for the AR but could be modified for other weapon types. |

Maybe on a side skill like proficiency, but even then it's kinda eh. Upgrading guns should stick to (GUNTYPE) Upgrades or the like. I'd rather you have to buy a dumbfire module and stick it in your swarm launcher using Swarm launcher Upgrades than you just getting that free ability somehow for buying more skill points. |

Yeah for sure that would make a lot more sense. That swarm launcher example was really just a suggestion. I suppose the idea is more than you get more than just x increase in x ability from the final weapon proficiency. A little bonus for the dedication to a specific gun - it loves you back just like you love it. |

At Ops lvl 5 allow players to install mods
Mods require extra ISK, SP, CPU and PG, but go on the weapon's slots instead of suit.
Should open up a whole extra venue, where you mod your weapon for your playstyle. |
