Hmm I need to find that video and make it a discussion point. You know those videos that IGn does during E3 where they bring a dev to their booth and do a interview? I think thats where I remember this kind of stuff from. |

I remember seeing this in a few places, but not from devs, only posted in the forums, and every time, when asked for a link, the person who "saw" or "read" or "heard" it has been unable to find it again.
So... a source would be nice. For now, I think it was probably an ambiguous comment that could be taken that way, but wasn't meant the way people have interpreted it. |

The reference, I think, you are recalling is regarding not being forced into One Class.
For example, Logi Bro. Once chosen it could be assumed, if not from DUST/CCP, that you can Only be a Logi Bro. You cannot have a Scout Suit, nor buy a Militia Heavy to have the HMG for CQC or expect to Skill up in Sniper Rifles. Yet, in DUST you can do all of that. And you can do it anyway you want to, weird, beautiful, cheap or whatever attribute you want thrown on it.
That does not imply that all Suits can Equip all weapons. To the uninitiated it could be interpreted that way but All it is saying is you are not frozen into a specific class. You can Skill into anything and use the equipment/weapons of that Skill including using different Drop Suits to enable your very special relationship with the HMG. |

A frigate will never be able to fit a Large weapon, so I find it very unlikely that you will see a scout running around with heavy weapon.
But future will tell.

Here is the interview where CCP's Dust 514 Executive Producer Brandon Laurino mentioned that a scout can specialize in heavy weapons. The part with the scout and the heavy weapon is around 6.50.
