nock out the enemy, keep them out of sevice for 30 seconds or so.
That will keep them from spawning and giving you the stealth ninja (scout) a chance to hack the obj and then dispatch the red dot with glee. Then said red dot will rage quit, post on the forums how op the stealth scout is.
This seems to fit in the Eve matrix fairly well and fit with the New Eden profile as well.

You know, he would still be able to use voice comms to warn someone, right? And it is overpowered. Shoot someone once and you'll be able to freely shoot them without them being able to counter. As for not spawning, it's unlikely they'll spawn fast enough to stop you anyway. |

To allow a physical counter and balance to the op power of the stun....
How about make the stunner a melee weapon. Charge the "stun fist" prior to encounter, melee success then red dot down. Tea bag whatever and whatnot, but no coms; tko for 30 seconds. |

I agree. If a stun feature is to be used, the one way I can think of a better way to use it, instead of a some hyper advanced needle (which I doubt a single one will penetrate the thick armor that mercs use, even Scouts), maybe have a special type of bullet specifically designed to "hack" the conscious transfer mechanism of mercs. it will effectively stun the "conscious transfer" mechanism for a good 10-30 seconds (depending on the level it is), effectively paralyzing the merc.
In the case of, say, an Assault Rifle, A special type of ammo that is effectively really really weak (being the trade off), can be made available. if it succeeds in penetrating the armor.
Or given how sniper rifles are practical one hit kill weapons if it lands in the head, there can be a special type of sniper rifle that if it succesfully lands in the head, instead of killing the target, it stuns it instead for a good 10-30 seconds (again, the level of the weapon comes into play), of which afterwards, the target can get up again. And naturally, failure to hit the head will simply result in the projectile glance harmlessly off the armor.
And naturally, because the target is stunned, the suicide mechanism will effectively be disabled, heheheheheheh, it will be the ultimate rage weapon. |
