Heps, need help understanding how boosters work.
I've so far earnt just over 190K Active SP (ca 192K) since Wednesday afternoon. Now, with an Active Booster, I am getting SP equal to my WP + 50%.
My understanding (also "confirmed" on IRC by other players) is that Active Boosters raise the weekly cap by 50% as well as give you 50% extra active SP.
An explanation on Boosters, gladly in the form of the algorithm used, will be appreciated.
Note: I am testing this while also having a Passive Booster running. Cannot confirm/deny whether this is affecting the results, but my expectations would be that it shouldn't. |

afaik the active boster will still give u 50% on top of what u earn even after u hit the cap so 500wp would net u 750 sp with the active booster like u i myself am unsure if it increases the overall sp cap
the passive booster nets u passive sp faster so instead of getting 2sp in 5 seconds u would get 3 making it 50% faster but also in creaqsing overall sp cap from 192k to 270k
im jsut guessing here im not sure about how the boosters actually work |

AFAIK the active booster doesn't actually raise the cap, but neither do the extra SP it gives doesn't count towards the cap. This means that if you've already capped before activating the booster it'll only increase the post-cap SP by 50%. Active boosters should always be activated before playing the first game after the Wednesday downtime, that way you'll get 285 600 SP before capping. |

When a booster is started the SP is boosted from its Current condition until the booster expires.
If you started playing, at all, before activating the booster you lose the SP bonus for that SP gained.
The entire time the Active Booster from when it was started until it expires all SP is boosted to 150%.
Either you started the booster later after the reset and are not getting its full benefit or you have Not Enabled the booster. If you purchased it but failed to enable it that would match your current situation. If so, Do Not Enable It Until The Next Reset otherwise you will only gain for for SP Capped battles (maximum of 1000, boosted to 1500).
You didn't mention what type of Booster you have? One day, Three day, Week or 30 day from the Merc Pack. If it is the 30 day version then enabling it will actually not be a bad thing to do. For all the others you might want to think about when the best time to activate them based on your playing time and the SP Cap Reset. |

If so, Do Not Enable It Until The Next Reset otherwise you will only gain for for SP Capped battles (maximum of 1000, boosted to 1500). Based on the above, I'd summize there are 3 SP types:
- Passive SP - gained continually, 2 SP/second
- Active SP - Gained from battles, 190.400 SP/week
- Bonus SP - Gained from Active Booster, equals 50% of Active SP
If nothing changes the Active SP cap, then, as KalOfTheRathi says, we should avoid engaging in battles until activating our boosters - conversely, we should avoid boosters, if we've already earnt SP that week.

One Day - due to lack of clarity surrounding their behaviour, I did not wish to spend any more AUR than absolutely required to test them. |

Don't forget the ever popular Passive SP Booster. That nets you 12K per 1000 AUR if you are doing a cost benefit ratio. Hint, it has the least ROI.
Anyway, I hoped that helped clarify it.
My alt will sometimes use the Active Booster. Normally it is a one day version. Although I have used the three day a time or two. I get myself ready to start by purchasing it in advance. Then when KR is capped out I plan on when to start my alt up. As I am going to the first battle I enable the Active Booster. The result is that I can SP Cap in one day and that is my best ROI for that character. |

Yeah, just trying to scrape together some SP before the Respec - Hopefully either try out an LLV or Assault B-Class before then to see if something works better for me |

Really - I've got my passive active and I'm only getting about 1 SP every 2 seconds? |

Passive SP:
Without booster: 1pt every 3.6 seconds = 1000 sp / hour With booster: 1pt every 2.4 seconds = 1500 sp / hour |
