I apologize for the poor quality, the video was recorded without sound and through a webcam.
Test was conducted with the 'Exile' Assault Rifle with Assault Rifle Operation level 1, and a 'Toxin' Submachine Gun with Submachine Gun Operation level 5.
Testing out the Recoil on the Assault Rifle and the Submachine Gun. It might be hard to notice in the video, but the recoil doesn't really kick in until you get about half-way through the magazine on the weapon.
The "Visual Recoil" is only from the animation of the weapon being fired, the rounds still land where the weapon is aimed until about half-way through the magazine in which the "View Kick" (the point at which the weapon/aim begin to physically move) starts up. At this point, the weapon starts to stray away from the area in which it currently aimed in an upward motion.
The "View Kick" is easily countered by firing in bursts of 15-20 shots, making the weapon deadly accurate.
In my opinion (calm down, this is just my opinion) the View Kick on the weapons may need to be looked at as there's still a heavy amount of View Kick coming from the Submachine Gun despite it being's skill being at level 5. The View Kick on both weapons seems to come in very late toward the fire cycle, which doesn't make much sense when you consider it.
The reason I say this is because, in my experience, a weapon's recoil doesn't suddenly start ramping up when you've expended half of the rounds - it's a constant sort of thing. It's -always- going to have the same amount of recoil from beginning to end. Suffice to say, the "recoil" on the weapon almost seems cosmetic until it reaches a certain point.
The addage "fire in short, controlled bursts" still holds true, but in my opinion - maybe those bursts should be a bit smaller in interval.
Just my thoughts. Feel free to discuss. |

You don't even need to do a burst. Tap the R1 button and continue firing normally.
Oh and I got confirmation not too long ago on IRC that they tweaked weapon recoil slightly for Uprising. |

Well try this without aiming down the sight and you will recognize the kick starts earlier and harder so I guess thats what ADS is for... |

What is the point of the video?
You shoot the same gun several times with no real variation and you only use ADS yet you are talking about Kick. You also make the same mistake while shooting the SMG. Kick, ADS are not related there either.
Kick is specifically connected to hip fire. Decrease in dispersion and kick is not related to ADS. |

So you're saying that a weapon should just magically not have recoil because you're looking down the barrel? Physics disagrees, sir. |

lol @ the concept of "Kick is specifically connected to hip fire."
Kick is specifically connected to FIRING a GUN, my friend. Every game that initiated kick upon firing couldn't have ALL been wrong could they?
The AR is OP in this regard.
Wait? What was that? The AR doesn't shoot rounds? It shoots glowing golden threads of death that only hit as hard as bullets. Because they are threads, there should be no kick.
Sorry bro, my grandmother's sewing machine has more kick. lol
On a more serious note, majority of good players in this game, don't hip fire unless in the panic of cqc... So not sure how the 'kick is connected to hip fire' fact, changes the other fact that the AR is an unbalanced bullet hose, capable of peeing a deadly stream excess of 120m. No normal FPS player would even try to hip fire that far.
I recorded a video once as well, to demonstrate the same thing, but never posted it. (Side note: i recorded the unbelievably unreasonable no-scope accuracy of a sniper rifle. Shooting into a wall at the same range, like in this video. You'll notice that a no-scope shot will often fire out the SIDE of the gun! My barrel is pointing one way, but my round is hitting the wall from a completely different angle.)
In any case.... May 6. We'll see how things are changed in May 6. |
