I've read the post about new skills and there was (possibly) new dropship. Then I thought about the vid "battle for Caldari Prime". There was some kind of dropship that initially seemed like a bolas but if you take a closer look it clearly activate a module at a certain point This is a screen and this is the vid.

The info mined from Sisi has the Assault DS as Light frame, AKA LAV.
It's still miss-labeled as a 5 man ship though, so who knows. |

No longer excited lol. I'd rather not have a 500k-million isk DS taken out by one shot of a militia forge gun who can sight me anywhere on the map. I don't see this going well... |

The Assault Dropship is listed as Light Framed in this description.
There are two versions, probably STD and ADV.
They have differentiated DS roles by category now rather than by level, Assault, Logistics, and Standard.
So it will cost us quite a few points to cover all the bases. |

Same video, but a few seconds earlier.
Look in the top-right, moving towards the top-middle as the guy turns. That's definitely too close and too small to be the MCC, moving overhead as the player is watching the enemy tank. Not sure that it isn't one of the existing Dropship designs, but it seems just slightly off from the familiar silhouette... |

Unless the 'assault' dropship is fashioned after a helo like an Apache, its going to be junk.
What it needs:
Limited capacity - Max 3 people at most
Front mounted blaster - One that is between the small and large for tanks.
Side Pods - These would either be dumbfire rockets or lock-on swarms
These things should be a counter to tanks but more of a glass cannon as they sacrifice armor for speed. |

Ok, so I was listing how 'I' would kit it out. But same situation.. one forward mount and two side mounts. Would be a nice option if you could run the whole thing yourself but have a buddy jump in to manage the front mount while you fly and manage the side mounts. |
