It doesn't look like Corp Training Rooms will make it in Uprising. While i'm really disappointed, maybe that means they will be more fleshed-out and full of goodies in the next update. Some may not agree, but I think they are vital from a practice/strategy POV. Corps are instead practicing in Ambush/Skirmish, much to the chagrin of newer players. The ability to work on coordination may serve as further motivation for some people to play the game rather than AFK in the MCC.
I guess i've always envisioned a Danger Room (former X-Men comic nerd, sorry) setup when thinking about VR Training. A bland room that can transform into larger environment. Some will call it a waste of memory but the ability to work on player skill coordination is BIG. A few of the things i'd like to see...
A) Shooting Range - A place for guys to practice their accuracy for scores and even compete on a corp wide level.
B) AI/Drones - These would be good options so groups can work on their coordination. Practicing taking an entrenched area or being surrounded by enemies.
C) Wargames - This is the #1 benefit of VRT. It allows corps organized practices against themselves.
D) Customization - It would be nice if we had the ability to choose small, medium or large maps and had the ability to drop in assets, drones, turrets and other stuff from the MCC commander RTS view. Options like time limits, infinite duration and Skirmish/Ambush rules would also help. Big maps would let us coordinate tactics on one end and let pilots/drivers practice on the other.
E) Cost - As an incentive to CCP maybe VRT has a operating cost. Nothing extravagant but maybe 50M ISK or 50 Aur per month. This could provide some extra income for CCP.
F) Join Sessions - Letting corp members join VRT sessions already in progress is really important. locked sessions should also be an option, maybe guys want to 1v1 on a small map.
G) No SP - It goes w/o saying no SP should be gained from VRT.
H) Infinite Fits - Its virtual so nothing lost inside VRT should be lost in-game. This way it can provide a place to practice with better fits rather than protostomping all over new players in pub matches. |

+1 Yes, good idea, but as was said, has been recommended before.
Often it sucks that we can't practice coordination, and test weapons and equipment before going to live combat/actual matches.
I've been guilty of this. Myself and a couple friends would deploy into a match, just to conduct an experiment. It would often make friendlies and enemies miserable alike. We're not coordinating with blueberries usually during private experimentation, and some reds would think we're trying to pick on them individually on purpose. I've seen it, and got the hate mail from both accordingly.
I could never emphasis enough the value of having a training arena or a Holodeck. (you're a Marvel nerd, and I'm a Star Trek nerd. lol)

I have multiple threads about this but never got enough replys to get any attention from ccp so i let the threads die i will try and keep this one bumped for you.
Also how about pre loaded programs so you could install and load pre programed virtual trainers to your simulator. One could be a dropship training simulator, another for tanks, another lavs, and ones for the 4 other drop suits.
*load drone infestation virtual training simulator. |

we really need this. I often don't get to take in the entirety of a map when i'm busy not getting shot in the face. This would give an opportunity to study a map, find goo defensive positions, and practice strategy with your squad. |

+1 I would like to actually learn to fly a drop ship and not how to drop a drop ship. Every time i try to learn in skirmish there is someone with swarms. End of lesson. You scored an F. Again. Looser. But i try it again and again. If others did it i will too Besides i just can't idle in the safety of the red zone with a cheapest DS while others struggle to secure a victory...

I like the ideas here, although I have a few suggestions.
1 - Corp training matches (wargames) would be funded by the corp, just like a day out paintballing. The corp would pay for all the equipment lost including tanks and suits etc. I think this could even be a GÇ£safety offGÇ¥ mode for what you currently suggest.
2 - Drones or any PvE is as valid a game mode as PvP. If you want to play GÇ£safety onGÇ¥ in the holodeck/danger room then of course you get no ISK or SP. But when PvE comes I better be getting ISK and SP for losing my stuff when I die.
3 - Cost? Nothing. If CCP locked away parts of the game that could only be accessed via AURUM then that would simply be the worst move ever made by them. Let's be clear, AUR lets you get things done faster. It doesn't lock people out of playing the game.
Everything else seems fine to me. |

As a solo player not associated with a corporation i would like to see a public shooting range open on the space station that houses my merc apartment. I would love to be able to fit my latest mods and equipment and then head down to the range to test it out. Statistical feedback about damage done and taken, repair rates, speed of travel and other such things would be great. |

I thought about that. but if the VRT doesn't have any kind of operating cost some people will stay in there instead of playing the game. This way corps still need to generate ISK to keep the lights on. I gave both an ISK and AUR equivalent. I dont know about you but i've always found companies are motivated to add new features when they increase revenue.
@ ryogecko - thats a really good idea. stations should have these so that solo players can get their practice in too. have a cost of 10,000 ISK or 5 AUR for 24 hours. |

I agree that it should cost, but not AUR only, and definitely not at the price you mentioned. 50 million ISK is a huge amount. I have been playing from release and I have just got about 20 million saved. Perhaps any money earned could be donated to the corp wallet which the training room belongs to.
Maybe 150k ISK and 15 AUR might be better?
How about a pass being available for AUR that offers certain benefits. Maybe a longer time in the range? ISK users get 30 minutes and AUR get 45 or 60? |
