The reason I ask is that I'm going on a working holiday down under at the end of the month and could potentially away for a year. Will my character still be their when I come back? |

CCP never deletes eve characters that have been subscribed for any length of time.
Hypothetically someone could have made an eve account with the CD box back in 2003, logged in to create a character and then immediately logged out and set their house on fire so they could go spent the rest of their life living in the wilderness. Even only subscribing for the included 30 days and never logging in again, their character will still be there today, waiting exactly where it logged off with all of its assets intact, almost ten years later. I guarantee it 105%%
It is more likely that the game itself will be permanently shut down than you will ever have to worry about your character being deleted by the devs for "reasons"
They don't really even delete characters owned by permabanned accounts |

I know some accounts get permab&d erroneously and so they shouldn't auto delete on ban. But what about say a year later? It reduces the amount of **** that databases have to track, right? There has to be metric tons of **** that permabanned accounts will never be able to distribute. Delete it a year after the ban. |

also, you may need to relogin to to gain passive SP for the year, we will on May 7th when the new build launches and if out alts are passively gaining or not...When we switched to TQ back in January (?) you needed to download the update and relog your character...people who took a break in December and came back in February were a month behind in SP...(all roughly speaking) |

Really ..... it would seriously suck not getting any passive SP if I dont login on when the patch drops. I'm leaving on the 28th this month.
Could a Dev please confirm this.
I guess I could get a family member to log in for me, I dont look forward to trying to walk them through it over a skype call.
