This if for all you little boys and girls out there whose daddy's never talked to you about life and fairness,
Old 2-ton is hear to give you a little life lesson, feed you and put you to bed.
You think because cant/wont use a piece of equipment or buy something on the market or a accessory for the game that it should not be allowed for others to use.
No one cares you dont have money.
Not me
Not CCP
Not your Corpmates
If something give a advantage, people are gonna use it. People around the world have different amounts of disposable incomes. Your amount of commitment and ability to play the game is up to you not others. No ones here to hold your hand and make it ok. CCP is here to make money.
Everyone has the right to enhance their experience.
Lets go over the whiners issues shall we? And see if we cant get down to the core of the issue with some of my own just as silly issues the whiners have swimming around their heads.
Things that money buys that are unfair but really are just things anyone can buy and enjoy, some people just choose not to.
What about people with surround sound headphones? some people dont have those does that mean they are unfair and they should no be allowed? It gives a advantage in detection. Some players cannot afford it. So remove support?
What about mics? Some players cant afford those either. so they have a unfair advantage in communication So ban mics?
Fast internet is unfair! Guess you see where im going with this eh? Too bad
Keyboards and mice? If you choose not to buy one thats not someone elses problem.
What about people with massive tv screens? you dont think having a 65" tv does not make it easier to get headshots or spot people at distance? You cant afford that tv
AUR items?, Available to everyone and single death use. Nothing stops you from getting it but you.
Same goes for boosters,SSD's and anything else that everyone is free to get and use that does not violate CCP policy.
End statement
Was going to say something long winded about stereotypical trailer park poor person using a 15" screen with his gf popping out babies like a frying pan making popcorn but i decided not to as thats just being a A hole and allot of people have real actual problems beyond their control. IE disability and other things. So I can sympathies with your position at its core.
However
Allot of you just dont want to spend more money
and thats fine but,
Not my fault you have a monetary disability or dont want to pay more
That's your problem.
Your problem, you solve it.

You are thinking about the Underpants Gnomes, but they don't take your money, just the underpants. Leprechauns are more lecherous. |

Hey now, im rolling with a 16" tv myself.... and well alcohol its a cruel mistress, however legally speaking... Im not the father 3rd world country yo.
And I agree with everything you said, the best players usually are the ones who can do as much (or more) as someone in a better situation, overcoming the odds.

I just grin and bear it, and laugh at people spending actual cash on disposable items. Boosters make sense, AUR items are just silly. Nothing says try hard like using actual cash in order to beat the competition |

When you think about it, everything in the world is just some disposable virtual item. The food you eat will be gone in just a very short time, the stuff you buy will wear out and be gone forever. The argument that spending $$ on virtual goods is silly, I find that spending $$ on anything is silly.
However, I did buy myself some Genesis Rifles, I thought it was silly shooting people in the head, but the fact it was silly didn't wipe the smile from my face. |

P2W turns things into a rich person's game. If CCP wants to whittle their player base down to a handful of folks funnelling them money, that is of course their choice. It isn't whining to express dissatisfaction with such a system. It's just letting CCP know their game isn't as fun as it could have been. |

The problem with the very concept of "Pay2Win" is that it assumes that Dust (or EVE) has a single endpoint- one limited version of "winning" that requires someone to pay money in order to have the opportunity to achieve that lone outlet of success.
This is simply not true in New Eden.
Let me use my own pathetic self as an example:
- I will never, EVER top the leaderboards. - I will never, EVER own enough districts to big a big shot in PC. - I will never, EVER be feared for my KDR.
By the logic of P2W, if I simply spent enough money, I could achieve any of those things. This is a false hope.
I will never achieve those things because I have limitations that have nothing to do with money:
- My hand-eye coordination will never rival that of someone half my age. - My job and other RL responsibilities prevent me from playing even a quarter as often as some people. - My motivations go beyond shooting pixels in the face and teabagging them.
I "win" by having fun. That may include shooting pixels in the face, but it can also include hacking stuff deep behind enemy lines and opening up a second (or third) front in a redlined battle. Having fun can include shouting stupid RP slogans while sandbagging those who fight for the "wrong" team in a storyline mission. Having fun might be about dying in funny ways, trying out new fittings, trying to improve my accuracy by using only pistols, or finding out what's at the bottom of that hole. It can also include tagging a "/1" onto the KDR of that annoying sniper on Manus Peak. Fun might also include hunting down the most expensive suit in the match and ganging up on it.
New Eden does not have a single point at which you "win".
If you are losing at one "game", change the rules. Stop trying to go toe-to-toe with the AUR guys and start messing with them. It can be done. The Goons have practically made it their calling card in EVE. Another group, Agony Unleashed, is infamous for their effectiveness at killing expensive ships with cheap ones.
You have the same power in Dust 514.
But only if you learn to use it.

10/10 troll. I actually thought you were seriously trying to imply that Dust is somehow P2W. This horse has been dead and in the ground and the verdict is in: Dust is not P2W. Anyone who still does not understand that is too dumb to engage. |

So is this a counter-troll? Because nowhere in my post did I suggest the game was P2W. I was only addressing the criticisms levelled at those who claim it is. |

The basic gist of the message is self-reliance, responsibility, and accepting the limitations you're dealt with.
If people haven't learned this from a video game yet then they are most likely failing HARD in real life.
No one has to like the situation, but you still have to deal with it.
+1 to OP. Everyone who disagrees can just drink it in. |

Given how many people take this game way too seriously, I would imagine that failing hard in real life is a prereq for some clans. |
