I've just starting skilling into tanks again, (much different than back in closed beta when i first did it) and i wanted to ask the tanker community (and infantry to) about their thoughts on a player skinning into tanks with the sole purpose of killing other vehicules. and i would like the converstation to focus on two main points;
1. the role of a TD (tank destroyer) in a solo role, without the support of other armor, and 2. the role of a TD in a squad of tanks.
please attempt to keep criticism constructive :)
(point of note, i have shield tanked railgun fits in mind, so please consider this in your replies) |

Any advice you get now will be at least half-way to obsolete in about a month's time when Uprising hits.
That said, Railguns are (currently) the best option for breaking shields, but if you're hunting armour tanks, and you know you're going to be in relatively close range, Missiles might be a better option.
Rail tanks are easily the best long-range option for anti-tank operations. Keep in mind that when you charge your Railgun, you can fire multiple shots if you just hold the fire button. You don't need to charge, fire, cooldown and charge again. You can charge, fire, fire - but be careful not to overheat. Also, for more precise aim, use R3 (click right stick) to shift between first-person and third-person view.
For your secondary turrets, if your primary role is anti-tank, you'll probably want one of your turrets as a Railgun and the other as a Blaster. The front-mounted turret is often the best position for an anti-infantry weapon, which the Blaster is good for, but the Blaster on the roof turret can be an effective anti-air option when the enemy brings Dropships - which could otherwise be a deadly threat if they can take a stable position above you. |

If there's a squad of tanks, I'd prefer to call in blaster tanks, especially if the others are blaster tanks. It works best if you can communicate with the other drivers so you can coordinate an ambush on the enemy tank. Still, you can just destroy him in a 2 on 1 engagement. |

Edit: blaster tank because once the enemy is down, I'd prefer to be able to engage infantry effectively and get more infantry kills than if I had a railgun. blaster tanking with a tank killer watching your shoulder is the best |

If you just want to kill vehicles go railgun all the way
Sometimes i bring out a blaster and may wreck the infantry, they then bring in a railgun and sit in ther unreachable redline and im ****** because i decided to pick blaster and have no range
You can always tag team with another tanker and what tends to happen is railgun hides in redline on mountain while blaster goes out and wrecks ****, ive come up against this tactics before but i bring out my tank destroyer and wreck the railgun 1st then you can eat up the blaster in your own time
