Win to loss in Dust is horrible it's a 3/1 system simple dropsuits can cost 50k and you can be loosing multiple suits in a single game. If you have one bad game or a bad team who brings you down you can loose over 5 suits, chances are you will make little to no profit. It's even worse for tankers of course naturally they are a strong force on the field I don't want to get into that however I want to get into the isk. Loosing one tank will loose you triple to double what you are making in a game if not more. The petty tank insurance received (yes there is a payout for loosing a tank) is so insignificant. I can't even tell you how bad I feel for the prototype geared players who gets killed once or twice in a match.
This is why players get into isk farming in standard suits but you wont be able to get many war points in a standard suit which means less money per game. So my proposal is this make a way for players to farm isk. We already have one it is farming in quick matches in a standard suit. But we need something better a way for players to make an in game living. We need a system that at least doubles what we make in isk in quick matches and is pve but for less risk. A player farming isk in a standard in a quick match isn't that helpful he will not contribute as much to the team. If we gave players a source of pve they would not need to join quick matches in standard suits they could simply run pve. This would not be an op system but a beneficial system that with dedication can be quite rewarding while still challenging the player. Instead of loosing around 200k a match and only making 20k profit a mercenary would loose around 0 - 200k a match and gain around 400k to 600k.
Example: This is an example of how the money system in a quick match works at the moment
60k logistic drops -3 dropsuits (180k loss) 224k isk payout for quick match 44k isk gained
As you can this is a 3/1 system I lost 3 suits and only had the money to re buy one this is the problem many players are experiencing. It is the reason we need a better source on income in which we can farm money this will be completely different move from planetary control. Planetary control is a pvp system however there needs to be a system for players to jump out of pvp and into a more relaxing non pvp related gain system. I know CCP is working a lot on planetary control but what they don't realize is there leaving a lot of the small corps out the big corps will probably assert early dominance and the smaller corps will control few district or no districts. I know in EVE for example I am a high sec mission runner with no null sec control and not many corp mates. The same will have to be applied to dust mercenaries not all of them will join a corp so CCP will have to look out side of planetary control. The best way for these players to go would be pve and quick matches so CCP will need to stay original with content outside of pvp.
The best suggestions are missions introduce leveled missions like the ones in eve online. I also hope the up coming drone infestations will have a good isk pay out no 3/1 bull crap. |

I can do fine with Militia gear.
If you can't afford to use the gear you're running, DON'T run that gear.
Just because you're skilled into Advanced level everything, doesn't mean you should fit everything at Advanced level.
Fit some lower-tier modules or a cheaper weapon on the suit, or load up a cheaper suit with only a couple of the higher-grade items and some Standard (or even Militia) gear.
If you're not making a profit, you need to look at your fittings and figure out why. |

Honestly your making no sense you are agreeing with me on the fact that players are making no isk with the gear we are running then saying it is our fault for having better gear? Mercs need some way to make more isk if you can not agree with that then I don't understand why you play dust. Dust and EVE are similar and in both players should be able to make a steady source of income. If you can not see the point in that then you should not play dust that is like taking away jobs from every American then saying its their fault they cant support their homes and that they need to down grade. |

PVE is planned in the future. Should be able to make some ISK there, although I wouldn't count on it being huge. PVP is the core of this game, and I expect CCP will be looking to skew the rewards in that direction.
What Garrett is saying is that no one's forcing you to play with expensive gear. Some people in some circumstances can go out and play in proto gear and not lose a single suit. Other people could go out in proto gear and lose 20. Should you get money back based on the amount of money you spend? No!
Every time you drop needs to be a calculated decision about whether it's worth spending that money. I'm not going to pull out my high-level forge gun unless there's a tank crushing my team. If I'm just picking off LAVs or some solo militia HAV, I'll grab a standard forge gun because there's no need to risk getting trashed in expensive gear when lower-level gear will do just fine. |

According to everyone, once EVE and DUST are fully integrated, EVE big shots will be practically shoveling the money our way. Also, there will be a marketplace where you sell unwanted items for money, so that will help I guess. |
