For god's sake, stop using DCUs. They are absolute garbage, and get in the way of most active tanking. IE, Shield tankers would get much more out Shield Resistance Amps, which are both passive and offer a higher resistance. Not to mention the minimal gains DCUs give you. Say you have 7000 EHP. A DCU gives you an extra 700 HP for what, 10 seconds? Not at all worthwhile compared to modules like a Booster or a Coolant Pump. If it were a passive module, It might be usable, but for the time being, it is not, and your high slots are better spent on things like shield modules, boosters, coolant pumps, and active scanners. |

Also, the DCU activated ability combines with any other active hardeners, and as everyone knows there are stacking penalties.
Using a DCU effectively reduces your EHP. (other mods ftw.)
So yah, I agree with the OP. They are terribad, even for armor tankers. |

I think he's just trying to be helpful. With the way stacking penalties work, there's no point to a DCU. There was a question about it (especially for armor tankers) for a bit, but you're better off putting anything else in that slot.
plus, he didn't say that you couldn't do it, it was more of a, "if you do this you are seriously gimping your vehicle" kind of thing. |
