I just started to wonder this thing,when the uprising starts(6.5).Will there gonna be gallente assault dropsuit and if so,do the players have to collect new skill points to use that dropsuit? |

They've confirmed a Gallente Medium Frame suit (same size as Assault and Logi), but they've conspicuously avoided calling it an Assault.
We also have reason to believe that, if not on release of Uprising, sometime during the build, there will be a range of other racial dropsuits, at least one for each race in each size class. |

It's not suspicious, it's a change in the entire dropsuit progression system :P
From what we know so far, they are moving into a more 'frame' (size) based system instead of having the set four suit archetypes.
This allows them to do interesting stuff like large (heavy) frames that can't use heavy weapons but gain equipment slots instead, suits that have less HP but lower scan profiles, stuff like that. A truer sense of the 'sidegrade' concept instead of a clear cut "Each race has four suit types, and each of those suit types has 6 ISK variants across 3 tiers"
Not too many details about the nitty gritty of the new system though. :(

I didn't say "suspicious". I said "conspicuous". There's a difference.
A deliberate point was made to avoid saying that it was a "Gallente Assault" when people were asking if it was that. |

Pretty sure one of the interviews mentioned that profile is based on frame size. So all Small Frame suits will have the same base Scan Profile value as the Scout. I can see the different races having different Scan Precision and Radius though. We already have evidence of that pattern in the current suits. Assault and Logi (same frame size) both have the same Profile, but different Precision values.

Last episode of Cast514, when talking to CCP Nullarbor and Praetorian, they told us so.
Pretty sure I left in the part where he said no crusader suits, but I think I might've not used the part of the conversation where he told us pilot suits weren't coming either. Or maybe I left out that conversation entirely. Hard to remember! :P
