One of the things I plan to do (barring unrealistic prices) is have an active and a passive SP booster equipped at all times. Under the current system:
4,000 AUR = $2 = 2,000 AUR per $ 10,000 AUR = $5 = 2,000 AUR per $ 20,000 AUR = $10 = 2,000 AUR per $ 40,000 AUR = $20 = 2,000 AUR per $
So, no discount based on quantity which means we can simply convert current AUR item prices into real world money.
With the boosters, however, longer duration boosters do save you money so I will assume the longest duration boosters:
30-day Active Booster = 7,000 AUR 365 days in a year / 30 days = 12.17 necessary per year 12.17 x 7,000 AUR = 85,190 AUR per year 7-day Passive Booster = 7,000 AUR = 1,000 AUR per day. 365 days in a year / 7 days = 52.14 necessary per year 52.14 x 7,000 AUR = 364,980 AUR per year
Therefore in order to have both an active and passive booster equipped for a year it will require the expenditure of 450,170 AUR. Per month this would be 37,514 AUR. Therefore assuming 2,000 AUR per dollar, we get $18.76 per month. A little above the traditional $15 monthly MMO fee.
Anyway, I'm willing to pay this. I wouldn't pay too much more than this (and left out whatever UVT might end up costing), but like where it is as at now. Any thoughts?
Bored as I wait for the cable guy to come by to fix my HBO so that I can watch the Game of Thrones premier tomorrow.

You might be able to cut back on the $ cost once the secondary player-driven market goes live where you will be able to one day buy and sell UVTs, Boosters, and other AUR stuff for ISK with another player. The estimated ISK prices will vary depending on the laws of supply and demand. |

Thanks for doing the math for us.
Now how much extra sp would both boosters give us during the entire year? |

Still no..... I have 7.5 mill and im still unlocking crap I need for my assault. ... mainly because I put 3 mill into my heavy first. There may come a point in time where you no longer need SP for your main fit, but that is roughly 10-15 mill into one fit. When that happens you put sp into something else you need. For example I have proto laser AR and forge and HMG. Versatile characters make this game much more fun. You will always need SP and it will always mean a lot. |

Kind of short sighted there. Take a look at Eve Online where there are capsuleers who have been around since 2003-2004 and have over 200 million SP. |

Might be an issue with your maths, cant see the prices currently but im sure someone can confirm if im right or wrong
I think.. There is a bonus on Aur the 40k pack gives 40k plus 3k bonus. i expect the rest do too
the active and passive boosters cost the same which are 28k each for 30 day boosters or 7k each for 7 day boosters
meaning the cost per 30days in Aur is 56k
based on the remainder of your maths and the costs of Aur being 2k per $ thats $340 a year, which is $28.3 a month (not including the bonus Aur amounts as i cant see them)
Also the Merc pack is much better Value than just buying Aur,
$20 for the merc pack which is 40k Aur plus 30 day active booster buy 11 packs to cover the year leaving the 5 days left over which will cost 2 x 7000 Aur for 2 x 7 day boosters you have 10k left from the 11 packs from the 30 day boosters buy another 4k Aur at $2 brings us to 222 for the year Which gets us down to $18.5, yeah ok its near enough what you posted by the end but very different way of getting there :p
Can someone please confirm those prices |

But you are wrong
Look at the AUR bundles
You seem to get 10% extra |

Ah, crap. This is outdated. The math is based on the cost of AURUM on the date of the original post. Seems CCP is doing a sale or some such now. Bleh. Will update the original post to reflect the outdated information. |

I have a char with 85m sp, and another with 25m, and the 25m is better at certain ships and weapons than the 85m one.
There is a specific ammount of SP that "makes" your first choice, and above that is only complement and extra classes.

Do you raise the SP cap further if you have a PASSIVE and an ACTIVE booster activated at the same time?
The SP cap is about 190k
Rraised by 90k-ish by active
Raised by 80k-ish by passive
Does it mean it will be raised by about 170k if you use both of them? I was under the impression it was one or the other |

Unlike subscription based games you can play all you like after the pay to get more SP subscription lapses.
Being it is a 50% increase with boosters, that just means you still get 75% of the max without them, in other words the majority of SP.
Who says you need to have boosters each month to play the game?, also use merc packs, way better deal.

Not sure if troll. I haz bacon?
Plan to update this over the weekend, though. My intent was to bring attention to how much CCP is trying to make this game cost for people that want to have both active. As of the original post, it was a bit high in comparison to an MMO subscription fee. This also excluded UVT, BPO purchases, and AUR items.
Anyway, on second thought, I'm eating my bacon.
