Hey guys, I got a few questions and was hoping u could help me out.
What is the difference between Ambush and Ambush OMS ?
Do you need to have the specific turret skills if you enter a vehicle, even if the one who spawned/drives it has them himself?
If i hit the weekly SP cap, can i switch characters and earn max sp again with him?
Which nanohive gives most hp/s and ammo at the same time?
Do I use Shield extender or heavy weapon mods for my heavy mashine gun loadout? Armor plates or Armor Repairer?
My Heavy Loadout costs me 52k isk a pop but even when getting over 1k Warpoints I only get ~280k isk. But I die more than 3-5 times a game. Any tips? :D
Thx in advance! |

Hi^^ The difference between them is that Ambush: Is pretty much a team deathmatch and Ambush OMS: Is the same as Ambush but with installations dropping around such as Supply Depots and Various turrets..
You do not need specific turret skills to use a turret of a vehicle..
Though I haven't tried it yet I'm pretty sure each of your characters have their own weekly sp capp~
Hmm I forgot which ones specifically since I normally carry Quantum Nanohives at the moment for being able to drop/carry 3 at a time... What you can do is press Triangle and check the stats on them ~ You'll prolly need to read the description to see if the nanohive your looking at repairs armor, resupplies ammo or even both...
For your Heavy Loadout.. Its pretty much a judgement call on whichever ya want more... Its best to make a couple of different fittings and test them out yourself.. Whether you would like to live longer, do more damage or possibly a balance..
My tip would be if your having trouble affording something then use it sparingly or could make other cheaper fits you can use to farm ISK in the meantime.. Also could try out other types of fittings as well and see if ya like them~ |

I'm pretty new to the game and have learned to not use my most expensive suit if I'm dying way too much but have a backup for those times. |

Same here. Usually spawn with one of my more expensive suits, and see how the team and I are faring. If need be, switch to a cheaper suit until you get a better handle on things.
Also, as suggested, make different suits with various values. My mid-suits let me die 5x and still make a likely profit. My full BPO suit only costs 2k (grenade) which practically guarantees a profit. My upper suits allow a couple mistakes before hurting my wallet. |

Listen up New Berries.
Weekly SP cap is 190,400 and the Active SP Booster gives another 95,200. Passive SP is 24K per day or 36K per day when Boosted.
After the weekly limit is hit SP is rewarded based on WP on a one to one basis. There is no theoretical limit, beyond your need to sleep or have a life, on gains past the cap. Well those and time itself one would assume.
Ambush is Death Match and Ambush OMS includes Off Map Support. This is when Supply Depots and Turret Installations will be dropped from above. And will kill you if they score a direct hit so don't camp the Exact spot they will be arriving at.
Any vehicle that you can get into will let you operate it, unlike EVE. The turret skills are combined in that the Owner has to have the skill to purchase and fit the module/turret into the vehicle. The Gunner's skills then Adds to the resulting damage output. So an unskilled Gunner is of little use while one that has the particular Turret Type maxed will add up to 35% damage Over what the Owner has enabled with their skills. Owner May (or may not) translate to driver. Hacker beware.
Look at the descriptions. The ammo/armor Hives have a significantly smaller reserve. My alt's Heavy can suck one dry just walking by.
If you have Logi Bro Support Armor might be better. If lone wolf is your normal mode the armor repair is probably a better choice.
Shields extenders versus damage is one you will have to determine on your own much like armor/repair. How do you play, do you have a Logi Bro, a shield extender will save you from a few SMG rounds while the faster recharge will get you back into the fight faster.
To make money you have to not lose money. A Zero Cost Suit or a Low Cost Suit is the way to go. Develop a style of play with a suit you can make money at. Charging in head first with out full shields, full clip and while your armor is low will cost the price of the Suit.
Die less. For a Heavy that means, don't walk in the open, hug walls, wait for shields to recover Before rounding the corner and make sure you reload and restock ammo whenever it is safe to do so. Squad up and keep a Logi Bro close. If you cannot do that then try Logi Bro or Assault. Cross fire is your friend, two squad mates on one Red not only kill faster but the Red is unable to focus their lethality in time to save themselves. A +25 Assist is much better than yet another Lost Suit.
Good luck out there.

Good read and informative. I read your post with the visualization of a D.I. yelling at a new recruit to get his **** together. |

LOL, I suffer from a more extreme version of this. I usually switch to nothing but Starter Fits after losing 3-5 suits. |

Thx a lot for the infos! I'm still not too clear on the vehicle turrets though. So say I am the owner of the vehicle and have the turret skills maxed and i get someone else to join a turret. That person then get the benefit then from my turret skill? If he then got the turret skills as well his skill boost and mine stack together for him? Sorry i didn't really understand it, english isnt my native language :/
And two more questions about the SP. The passive SP is not included in the weekly sp cap right? What day is the reset of the SP cap?
Thx again for helping this noob :> |

Passive SP is not connected to Active SP in anyway. They are totally separate including their Boosters.
Wednesday GMT 11:00 AM is the reset of the SP CAP. For myself that means Tuesday evening goes into Wednesday morning and the reset happens as I am GMT - 7. Don't forget everything is GMT based and that can change the apparent date, which has bit me a time or two.
For the Turret question you got the answer correct.
If and unskilled Merc (Red or Blue) runs off with someones HAV there are No bonuses, as I understand it, as the Driver sets the Base. Now add an unskilled Gunner and they have access to the weapon but at a significantly reduced damage output.
CCP could clarify that but the best I have is that the Driver and the Gunner stack.
Glad I could help. |
