What's with CCP and their love for the Scout?

There are currently three "featured fits" for the scout class, and heck even the Merc pack comes with a scout suit and close quarters equipment. You say "Ever find yourself short on battle supplies and wished you had a few extra blueprints to keep you in the fight? Then hereGÇÖs your chance to stock up on some war material for your hard work!" but don't show any Logi love? What about heavies? They probably need the extra suits and equipment more than anyone seeing as how expensive their stuff is. The rewards for this new event are: Shotguns SMGs Sniper Rifles Scout suits and Sprint mods I just...why? Is the scout population lacking or something? Do you want more people to use scout dropsuits?

Also, I personally see scouts the least, most shotgunners use Assault these days, and snipers also seem to favor Assault, Heavy, or Logi over scout.

Sniper Rifle is a Caldari weapon, and well-suited to the Assault suit. Shotgun is a good weapon for Gallente Scouts. They gave Gallente the Shotgun instead of the AR because it's slightly more of a niche weapon, like the Sniper and SMG. Also, CQC players are the ones losing the most gear in battle, and Scouts are meant to be one of the best options for CQC. Scout suits are not only CQC-focused, but are also extremely fragile in comparison with the other suits available. Sprint mods are commonly used on Assault suits for an edge in mobility, and on Logi suits to reach downed allies sooner. There are logical reasons behind every item. Also, it doesn't make sense to have an event giving away weapons the majority of the playerbase can't use. The Scout suits are the only thing that violates that. EVERY suit can hold a sprint mod - even a Heavy (although why would you do that?). Every suit can hold any Light Weapon (although Shotgun Heavies aren't the most practical. Heavy and Logi Snipers are pretty awesome in the right hands. Logi Shotgunners, while not common, aren't unheard-of. Heavy Shotgunners have been popular in a few builds, and are still nasty in many cases. Scout suits don't work the best for Assault, Logi or Heavy players though, so I hope there are events where we get other specialist gear.

I've been listening to CCP's not-so-subtle hints, and have been doing a ton of playing around with scouts. Even killed an advanced HMG heavy by using profile dampeners, a TAC AR, SMG, and scout suit (all standard)

Have you even ever played Scout? Play a Scout than tell me CCP loves us...
