It was glowing, too. Has anyone else gotten this? Should I have put this in the feedback forum instead? |

You probably just missed. It happens to all of us. The hit boxes are fairly accurate. |

So the physics engine on the server compensates for both the curvature of the earth and light bending over things. Your client does not. Also your aim-dot can only point in a straight line. so while where you think you see a person and are aiming straight at them, you are actually aiming above them. This is also what lets some people seemingly shoot behind hills. |

My favorite is when someone appears to be standing up straight on a hill, not moving, and you repeatedly shoot him in the face only to see blue shields and no damage.
Boy that's fun. I'd have three times more kills if all of my blue shield hits counted. |

Hit detection's 50/50 for snipers... more like 25/75. all 4 people on my squad sniping at the same target, none of us hit while he hits us, glitch or someone cheating? our 50 some odd rounds vs his 10 rounds(yea he was a bad shot) with not one of our rounds hitting and he wasn't even moving at all. |

Yeah its the hit detection screwing up. Due to the hit boxes being out of place I believe. |

Not a hitbox problem. Known problem between server and client. Client thinks you hit, server doesn't, due to distance detailing. As well as some other reasons which others are much better qualified to talk about. Not a hitbox error. |

Yes, this is the correct answer. The red dot isn't entirely accurate at range. First off, the LOD of the terrain isn't drawn correctly at range, making you think you have a clear line of sight, but there's actually a hill or other piece of the terrain in the way.
Also, at extreme range, sometime you'll get a red dot even though the target is behind a thin wall, or container or other obstruction.
In either situation, you're going to miss. If it's the terrain case, you will see the blue flash. This means that the terrain is actually in the way. The solution, usually, is to get to higher ground and then fire. |

And when "higher ground" isn't an option, moving to one side or the other (depending on the terrain in question) will usually help. Not just a few steps though (sometimes, but usually it takes more than that). |

sniping isn't broken you just fail, aim ahead of the target, it's not instant, there is travel time |

It's the server-side hit detection that "simulates" travel time by lag. |
