Currently the dropsuit skills offer only unlocks for better suits. Perhaps these skills could offer something that slightly negates the negative sides of using the suit for its intended purpose.
- Amarr heavy dropsuit: Could offer a bonus to sprint capacity, offering a longer sprint. Or even a bonus to armour plate PG usage or something applicable to the Amarr. Maybe even a bonus that is only applied if you are fully stacked with armour plates?
- Gallente could gain armour repair bonus or even have a base repair of 0.2% and at level 5 the total base repair would be 1%.
- Minmatar logi could gain a bonus for running certain modules in conjunction, like an injector and repair tool working together is more effective than just the injector.
- Caldari suits could gain bonus for fitting nothing but shield mods, where a fully shield stacked Caldari suit gains +2% shield depleted recharge rate per level (or something).
Hash these out if you like, or not if you don't!
And if none of these make sense that's because it's past 1 am and I've had a very long day at work. Night all! |

I don't really like these in particular, but some kind of buff per skill lvl would be nice, so I don't have to keep buying useless skills. |

I think you have to expand on that a little more given the expected variety of suits coming in. I recommend the following on a per level setup.
[Gallente Suits] Scout: Bonus to sprint speed Assault: Bonus to Assault rifle damage Logistics: Bonus to Remote Armor Repair Amount Heavy: Bonus to Armor Repair
[Caldari Suits] Scout: Bonus to profile dampening Assault: Bonus to Assault rifle range Logistics: Bonus to Remote shield repair amount Heavy: Bonus to Shield Repair
[Amarr Suits] Scout: Bonus to Sidearm damage Assault: Bonus to Assault rifle clip capacity Logistics: Bonus to Nanite Injector Armor Recovery Heavy: Bonus to Laser Rifle Damage
[Minmatar Suits] Scout: Bonus to Nova Knives Damage Assault: Bonus to Mass Driver damage Logistics: Bonus to Hacking Speed Heavy: Bonus to Armor Amount |

Yes. Same with vehicles. The Marauders seem to get a bonus, why not every vehicle? |

Agreed both vehicle and dropsuit skills should provide a per level benefit of some kind beyond unlocking new gear. This effect should be bound to both suit type (heavy, assault, etc) and racial type (Amarr, Minmatar, et al).
Keep the bonuses given by each skill too each suit type in line with the lore of the given racial group, the battlefield role of the suit (and of course proper game balance).
It'll likely take some tinkering to get it right but I very firmly believe this is an important aspect of the game.

[Minmatar Suits] Scout: Bonus to Nova Knives Damage Assault: Bonus to Mass Driver damage Logistics: Bonus to Hacking Speed Heavy: Bonus to Armor Amount I was going to but I was very tired and I didn't know how useful it would be, given that we don't know how CCP will introduce the skills for each dropsuit.
I don't know about some of the ideas you've listed as I would prefer these skills supporting general roles or even just have the general racial bonuses thay come from each of the different races. Giving such specific pros and cons like AR damage would find that people would have to use a certain suit in a certain style in order to compete.
More passive skills like shield regen or lowering PG usage would provide useful bonuses that don't favour any single playstyle but enhance the abilities of the users. |

You guys have clearly never played EVE... Here's how the bonuses work out. Each ship has in its description a certain attribute that's enhanced by the skill, but it's on an individual basis per ship. For example:
Condor: Caldari Frigate Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to light missile and rocket kinetic damage 10% bonus to light missile and rocket velocity per skill level.
Merlin: Caldari Frigate Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to shield resistances and 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret optimal range per skill level.
Now, note that each one receives different bonuses from the exact same skill, even though they are both frigates, and they are both Caldari. How we can apply this to DUST is we can assume each individual suit will have its own bonuses. For example, a Caldari Logistics suit might receive a bonus to repair tool range and shield recharge time, while a Caldari Heavy suit would receive a bonus to shield resistances and hybrid weapon damage. Each bonus is specific to both the role and the race, so Caldari suits will tend to have bonuses towards range, missiles, hybrid weapons, and shields. Amarr suits will have more armor and use lasers. Gallente suits will be better at repairing their armor, hybrid weapons, and drones eventually. Minmatar suits will be made of paper mache, run circles around you, and do a boatload of damage with plain old projectile guns.
Edit: By the way, I'm assuming vehicles will work exactly the same way.
TL;DR Each suit will have its own individual bonus which will be increased by that suit skill |

These bonuses should add something passive abd worthwhile that supports the role of the suit and the typical benefits common to each race. That's the bottom line. |

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm only going off what people have said on the forums really. As far as I understand:
- Gallente armour tank. - Caldari shield tank. - Minmatar are built for speed. - Amarr use lasers. |
