I've seen both of these on the forums before, but I think they would work well together, which is why I'm posting this.
Dual-Wielding would only work for sidearms, and you would have to equip both sidearms in different slots. You would also have a 25%% accuracy penalty and a 25% reload speed penalty, since you would have to reload both weapons at once while reloading. The "Dual-Wielding" skill would decrease both these penalties by 5 percentiles per level, until no penalty remained except not being able to scope in. Since more hip-fire friendly sidearms are hopefully coming, this would be very interesting. Dual-wielding SMGs would let you decimate armor and have a gigantic fire rate. Dual-wielding scramblers would only work if you were very good/had dual-wielding at lv 5/ were very close, but would let you land two headshots at once for massive damage. These all would come at the cost of having a light weapon. You could group your dual sidearms in your fitting window to select both at once quickly, or alternatively open up your weapon wheel, mouse over a sidearm, tap O, select another sidearm and start dual wielding. Having the option to individually select sidearms would be a benefit if you want to do more precise work. Dual Wielding could work for Nova Knives, but only if you held one knife, thus making only one attack with that knife. Normally wielding Nova Knives would get two attacks as normal.
Combat rolling/sliding would be really simple: Just hold the joystick in one direction and double-tap the jump button for a roll/slide. This would consume a lot of stamina but would allow for more evasive options. Plus, you would only be able to fire sidearms while maneuvering, thus giving Dual-Wielders a huge bonus. The speed/distance of these maneuvers would be dependent upon your dropsuit speed, so heavys wouldn't benefit a lot for trying to slide into combat like in Vanquish :P |

Only kids duel wield since it looks 'cool'
We are Mercs, the real deal and its far more efficient to use one gun well than 2 guns badly. The recoil from 2 smgs would make you aim so high you may as well be an AA turret, and 2 scrambler pistols 35 damage * 2 * 600% = 420 damage, you would 1 hit anything in just 1 go, there are 6 other shots even with little skills. That my friend, is OP
As for rolling/sliding, yet again only put in games because it looks 'cool'. in a duel in dust it would look like some sort of circus show, people rolling around on the floor. if you need to get out of the way then turn and run horizontally away from them, not in a strait line. |

Combat rolling forwards is something I could be persuaded to get behind as it's a tactical move that's been employed in many action movies.
The sliding and dodging/rolling that has proliferated the current generation of shooting games is something that I enjoy in certain situations, but mostly I just tolerate it. The main reason for this is simply that it's not believably realistic without some explanation, with the likes of Vanquish, the guy has a suit built for this stuff. When Capcom ripped that mechanic out of Vanquish and stuck it into Resident Evil 6 it was just ridiculous. Nobody has pants that can slide on concrete without instantly wearing out.

I posted a while back suggesting scout units being able to roll or slide. The would be a tactic similar to the lunge in halo reach that would allow shotgunners and nova knifers to get closer to their target. No duel wielding though. |

It would add a "flip" icon to the map for your team mates, everyone knows once a heavy is on his back he cannot flip himself over. With the exception of the Jove heavy suite which has 4 arms and a genetically engineered face turret. The Jove suites are banned from the battle field because they cause the user to commit suicide after use. |
