Gallente military doctrine is quite clear. Use a little speed, some armor, and a lot of guns. The Gallente Heavy is born from that doctrine. The Gallente Heavy is heavily armed, heavily armored war machine. It lacks some of the Amarr Heavy's armor, but it has a larger armament. Instead of one Heavy Weapon and one Sidearm, the Gallente Heavy has one Heavy Weapon and one Light Weapon. It is slightly faster than the Amarr Heavy but also less durable. Put plainly, the Gallente Heavy is a moving weapons platform. A slow, powerful weapons platform. Want to equip both a Forge Gun and a Laser Rifle? What about a Heavy Machine Gun and a Sniper Rifle? The Gallente Heavy is more versatile than the Amarr Heavy, but at the cost of longevity. For the skilled who can manage to keep it alive, however, the Gallente Heavy dropsuit is a very useful tool in their arsenal.
Advantages over the Amarr Heavy
- The Gallente Heavy is slightly faster and can sprint for longer.
- The Gallente Heavy can carry both a Heavy Weapon and a Light Weapon.
Disadvantages over the Amarr Heavy
- The Gallente Heavy is less durable than the Amarr Heavy.
Roles of the Gallente Heavy
- The Gallente Heavy utilizes both Heavy and Light Weapons to support his platoon in a versatile manner.

Both the Amarr and Gallente are armor tankers, but Amarr are for more focused on armor than they are on speed or damage, whereas Gallente are very focused on damage. |

So by that merit would you say that a Gallente Logi would gain a sidearm slot then? Perhaps at the cost of speed? No, logistics doctrine is not the same as standard military doctrine. |

Therefore i would expect substantially reduced hp to the amarr heavy, but with a very fast recharge rate.
Weapon wise a heavy + light would be crazy overpowered. The difference should be a bonus into the racial weapons of a suit (HMG bonus to Minmatar Heavy) We already have a Light Weapon + Light Weapon suit, and Heavies can already use Sidearms. I don't see the problem. |

I don't see the problem. Because you would be too good at too many things. Long range laserrifle, swap to HMG. OR AR with forgeguns. You can effectively counter each weapons weakness with another weapon. Also the fitting requirements would be too open. Also you dont get a double light weapon suit. i think he meant the Black Eagle Scout suit. Really? well i guess that might work on a wet paper bag like a scout suit... And it might work on a slow clumsy rock like the Heavy dropsuit. |
