The idea is to have augmentation or a automatically available mechanic similar to that of passive skill point one but instead it will reduce the skill point requirement of the next tier of skills.but it will only affect the drop suits , weapons modules etc that the user is using at the time, as well as this the skill point reducer will only affect the skill point requirement of the tier immediately above what ever drop suit , weapon module etc. the player is using. I think the use of this mechanic will help players move out of the militia phase and into the higher tiers.
Please bear I mind that the reduction rate would be about -1% per hour however you could have a dedicated one solely for dropsuit or weapon that could reduce by 3-5%. |

So you want Learning Skills again. They tried that in Eve and it just made things ugly and complicated.
Currently they have Aur items which I believe are tiered down so you don't have to have the same skills. |

i just if there was more of a incentive to stop using militia gear the game might become more fun |

I kinda like this idea as it would show skill being gained through implementation. It would not work for all skills, as it would be difficult to create/calculate/implicate the action (thinking Dropsuits, Circuitry, Shields, Armour, Scanners). I think it would be better if you 'earned' SP towards the next level, something like 10 SP per use/kill maybe.
ie.
10 kills with the AR will discount 100 SP from the next AR Operations upgrade. 10 revives with the nanoinjector will discount 100 SP from the next Nanocircitry upgrade. |

yh like that but the higher the tier the more discount you get.
ie. 10 kills with the militia AR will discount 10 SP from the next AR Operations upgrade 10 kills with the standard AR will discount 100 SP from the next AR Operations upgrade 10 kills with the advanced AR will discount 1000 SP from the next AR Operations upgrade

this way it will make more people want to better weapons I like it, I'm not sure the scale for SP discount is balanced/proper... but the idea is definitely something I can get behind. |

Discounts focused on a specialized battlefield role would be a less exploitable method to attain the same goal (CCP could pre set the effect of such boosters rather than having players set them up in more broken ways )
My 0.02 ISK is to do this but put it on an Aug slot of it's own so as to promote skill planning and role selection within the game rather than just added another layer of "ways to gain SP" into the current pile.

Look in the Market under Augmentations.
There are/were options to buy Skill Spikes or such. Pretty much what you want but with a time limit, of course, that would be only available with AUR, of course.
It might have been put there to allow someone to spend AUR and see if they want to spend real SP into something first. |
