Yes we are role playing in a fps. And it is because we are nerds and dorks who like to have fun. I have been playing for almost a year and we need something to keep it interesting. Also, the universe has been around for 10 years. There are lots of stories to play off of and it gives us a reason to fight. I hate fps games but this game is different and it has a community that enjoys gameplay of all kinds. Yes even lame ass roleplay |

New Eden have lots of stories going on, and i really liked the Chronicles before they stopped writtting them (Well, on a regular basis instead of the "I-¦m going to introduce my new features in the lore writing this").
In real life, i work with research on the topic of social impacts of tecnological transformations; and sexuality, and all the neural interface of the pod technology is starting to grow right now and it-¦s a thing that i like very much (Cyberpunk, Neuromancer...) . It-¦s a full plate here.
CCP bought White Wolf, you guys have amazing writers available, you really could continue writing stuff, because the sici fi of today is the technology of the future. (Unless of course, they-¦re busy with the World of Darkness MMO, in that case, keep them there cause i really want to play it )
I like the non maniqueist way the different factions are protraited, instead of the usual stereotype of "Caldari are fascits, Gallente are freedom lover of good and shiny, Minmatar are rebellious and Ammar are religious bigots). It-¦s the nuance that talks more about the shades of gray in life rather than the typical "Black and White" a lot of games try to paint.
A mature game for a mature audience, that-¦s why i love New Eden, i-¦m beggining to enjoy Dust (after all, there hasn-¦t been much opportunity to change things in the universe implemented yet), and i-¦m really excited about WoD. I remember the loads of fun i had playing Vampire The Dark Ages in 96, and even today i-¦m having fun with a live action group (Sabbat ftw)
I like the fact that this game can be more than just a "point and shoot" for people that want it to be.. That-¦s why CCP is awesome in whatever they put their hand on. |

Dude its totally cool. Closeminded people are the worst to deal with. I pretty much only RP because Im working to become a professional writer and like to create characters and plots for all my games and what not.
Doing so takes a generic FPS character and makes them something far more interesting. |

Yeah I mean for example Harkon Vysarii was with the Caldari Militia's until he was hired out to a private security contractor, Alyaki Industrial Solutions, this being before the advent of the immortal merc.
After a botched mission on a small Ishukone Mining Station, where by the AIS were used as a scape goat to lay blame for the murder of a high ranking CBD corporation owner he was inducted into a DUST programme.
A caldari loyalist to the core he remained stead fast to the State despite Heth's attempts to expell such soldiers from State space and was last seen fighting on Caldari Prime with members of the Dead Six Initiative after the Shigeru went down.
However being a Loyalist means he has a nasty tendency to be extremely severe when dealing with non Caldari interests, he is very dogmatic and unyielding which does nothing to help his rather scarred and rough disposition.
I currently have two short fan fictions for him for a Dead Six writing comp. One about the AIS incident and one about Caldari Prime. |

The no end game aspect of DUST and EVE is the interesting thing about New Eden. We write our own stories and everything we do has and impact on everything else. There are so many different professions in EVE that it would take years to learn them and even longer to be good at them. I hope DUST is the same way. I think the game is boring right now because i think fps games a boring in general. This game has potential and it comes from the tools provided by CCP and the story of and by players. No other fps offers this many options or amount of passion that DUST does and will.
People put in real work to manage corporations that reach out and touch lots of people from all over the world. A friend of mine is a xbox man and likes the idea of being able to blast playstation fan boys from space so he started an account in EVE. Name one other game that causes a player from one platform to play a game on another platform so he can shoot guys on a third. The point is that New Eden is built by it's citizens. No matter if you like shooting rocks, ships or mercs you can. If I want to be a douche and ruin some carebear's day I can or run a scam or rip off my corp for billions I can do what ever I want. |

i have to agree with you on this, the possibility is what makes me stick around, 6 years down the road, wherever we end up, we are going to be some of the top mercs because we hoped on board and stuck with it from the very beggining.
(though i would never intentionally screw over a new players experience or rip off a corp, that just ruins the game experience for others, and that means fewer players to *insert favored form of killing* and that's no fun in the long run, and i'm in it for the long haul)

I just want them to launch the game so the SP system gets locked into what's it is going to be. I hate the SP conversations about too fast, too slow, I need a reset and new player tears. If I was to pick up a copy of cod right now the players who had played that game constant for three months would mop the floor with me. They have techniques, different perks and all the maps memorized. There is no difference between that and the SP system in fist two months. What is going to happen when we get to racial perks and ammo, drugs, and implants? The first day some top player runs a full snake set there will be epic flooding. The grid for SP is what hurts this game more than anything else. Being active it makes new players think they can't catch up. They don't understand that it doesn't make you better it only really opens doors. A good player with mlt gear will destroy a bad player in proto.

What would be the one skill and module you could add? I would add the skill tactical shield management ( the management part may be the wrong name) that would work exactly like EVE's. This skill would stop crying threads about OP snipers. The module would be for vehicles and it would be a chaff or flares. This would fight off swarm launchers by defeating the target lock or confusing the missiles. |

Yeah kind of. Usually a module comes with a skill attached so I am not counting the module based skill. Tactical Shield Management is a stand alone skill that doesn't use a module. Armor Honeycombing is a newer skill that would be cool for heavies and armor tankers. |

I did for a while but I think I like multiple armor reps more. Armor tanking just makes me too slow. I think the biotics are a waste of a good slot and ISK. I do have a suit or two with plates but they are very specialized suits that I only use when they are needed. |
