Can someone please explain me how stacking penalties works particularly on damage mods
Example: Lets say I have a Assault type B suit and I decide to stack three complex damage modifiers does a stacking penalty applies? if so how is it affecting the damage my guns make? is it really worth it to stack three complex mods or stacking penalties are restricting me and it makes no huge difference on damage?
also when does stacking penalties start to apply?
thanks |

1st mod: 100.0% effectiveness 2nd mod: 86.9% effectiveness 3rd mod: 57.1% effectiveness 4th mod: 28.3% effectiveness 5th mod: 10.6% effectiveness 6th mod: 3.0% effectiveness
This is how the stacking penalty is supposed to work... there is a large debate on whether it is actually in place or not. Currently the dropsuit stats show it actually doing the opposite. |

What about HAV carapace armor hardeners? I saw someone use 4 25% damage reduction mods at the same time and was invincible for about 60 seconds. |

I meant that it actually increases the damage instead of decreasing but yes basically nothing. |

haha lets hope it's not the opposite or it would be making each damage mod stronger :P |

Yup that's a huge bug as well, It's part of why I won't log in and play while this game is still broken for 4 months plus now. People in the closed beta saw and reported these problems.
It was easier to see the problems when you all have 11 million + SP to play with. ahh I miss having 14 million sp : ( |

Hint : percentages are multiplicative.
Currently the fitting screen doesn't show any stacking penalties, but it's unclear to me whether or not penalties are applied in game. |

almost any that is based on a percent will be subject to a stacking penalty.
but as i stated previously we have no clue if they are working or not. Still even with a stacking penalty running 4 mods of that particular type will get you pretty close to invulnerable... |

Actually, even without stacking penalties, the vehicle should be taking about 32% of the incoming damage with the 4 mods.
I don't think stacking penalties are meant to apply to these reductive type modules, just the >1 type modules like damage mods. |

They do in eve I run an armor resist tanked ship. Each module beyknd the first is penalized to avoid immortal ships and in dust to avoid immortal things. |

Good to know. I haven't looked at the descriptions on my combat ships in a while. For the record, a 68% reduction to incoming damage by using 4 slots, doesn't sound like immortality to me, but I stand corrected on assuming that stacking penalties aren't meant to apply to these type modules.
