MCC currently has nothing "mobile" about it, despite the huge (perceived) strategic potential a sub-orbital command ship might provide on the battlefield. Their current strategy remains to hover in one spot until exploding
While the potential for player-driven MCCs might definitely be cool to explore down the line, I see just too many issues with allowing it in any form in instant battles (who gets to drive, collision with high buildings, risks of piloting poorly etc).
My suggestion instead was simply have the two opposing MCCs slowly circle each other around the battlefield throughout the match. By slowly I mean something like 10 min for a complete orbit, and such that both ships remain at opposite sides of one another.
This would add an exciting new dynamic to skirmish battles where each team has access to an uncapturable spawn point that slowly rotates around the battlefield and allows them to attack and pressure the control points from a constantly-shifting direction... So in addition to their normal starting base each team would have this strategic mobile command post to support strikes behind enemy lines. Now how's that for a true Mobile Command Center? It might pretty much end tedious one-sided matches played out at the redline. |

There is a forum that also involves the MCC. Here's the link:
[Feedback] Skirmish 2.0 Needs a Sense of Urgency
It's slightly off-topic, but with the OP's idea, Skirmish 2.0 would become even more fun. |

The MCC use to be moving from one point to another during the previous builds. |

it sounds like everything was better during previous builds. Why CCP, why make your game worse. |

I dunno, having a ship that doesn't do anything is kinda lame, having a ship that slowly orbits but doesn't do anything else is better, but still doesn't take into account. You got a space ship! Spaceships in Eve are awesome.
I'd like to see the Orbital Strike rules played up some with this. Don't let anyone fly the MCC, but give it laser bombardment commands, once it gets a command it starts flying over till it gets in range and starts laying down fields of fire, but it takes more damage from enemy bombardment points when its on the field in this capacity.
OR
The ship can only fire from forward batteries, the ship stays where it's at but rotates until it has a firing solution, so if you need to change its field of fire ti takes awhile to come about. And make it so the MCC takes more damage if it gets hit from a certain direction, so yes you can fire but you open yourself up to more damage
Of course you wouldn't want blueberries blowing up the friendly MCC, so make it corp match only. |

Why worry about blueberries? Ground troops can't harm the MCC, and if you're in a pub match, there are probably equally bad raspberries willing to expose their MCC as well.
Heck, why not have an MCC Chicken race. First MCC to drift to the side loses. |

MCCs will have commander positions so 1 player from each side will govern their team. |
