This spawn system is based off of team-mate location instead of enemy location, meaning even if you're right next to a group of reds, more reds will spawn on top of you because that's where their team is located. There appears to be a very hard to reach counter to this, surrounding the area with blues appears to stop spawns, but there has to be a lot of blues. This creates a lot of spawn camping when a few skilled players infiltrate, or get a LOS on a spawn location.
The older spawn system was based off of enemy location, if enemies were there it (tried) not to spawn you next to enemies, making spawn killing a rare occurrence, it happened randomly here and there but wasn't really game breaking.

I think the real problem is how content players are to conduct single front warfare. I always try and flank around the side to surround the red dot blob. If more people we more mobile and tried to move around the battlefield I think this system could work.
Sadly it seems like 80-90% of players just look for the nearest red dot from when they spawn and start shooting at them. I guess its good for orbitals though 10+ isn't all that rare because everyone is to afraid to move from their blob. |

Also false. There was NO accounting for friendly OR enemy locations in the previous spawn system. It was totally randomised. Unless the enemy team was well-spaced out in the map, you had a good chance of spawning away from their location because of this fact. You could spawn in on a group of 5+ enemies and get instakilled back then pretty easily, but because 90% of enemies are in 20% of the map, you had an 80% chance of spawning somewhere with few to no enemies.
So what needs to happen?
Simple. The current system needs to STAY, but the numbers need tweaking. Enemies need to be treated as being of greater importance than friendlies.
If there are 2 teammates and 2 enemies near a spawn point, the game should avoid it, because you're likely to spawn in already taking fire. |
