A capacitor on dropsuits could make the game more interesting, the basics of this for any not familiar with eve. In eve capacitors are a power reserve used to power Active modules which are a lot more power intensive than passive ones, the trade of is active modules are quite a bit more effective than passive but can not be run continually(mostly anyway),
There should be a risk reward with using capacitor to boost your performance when cap is depleted you should be exposed more my suggestion if for assisted moment to go offline which slows you down this will act as a risk if you drain your cap you are at a significant disadvantage, also id like to know if anyone has better ideas as to a disadvantage.
The advantage is the use of active modules which can be used to boost your characters abilities a few suggestions (stuf that would work from eve) of active modules are things like:
1: Shield and Armor hardeners (makes either shield or armor much more effective as long as it is run) 2: Repair systems/shield boosters (this would repair your armor or shield) in my opinion it should rep it at the rate of current shield regen. 3: Movement enhancers this would increase speed of character this would be highly capacitor incentive to stop it being used all the time, 4: Static webifier (this would greatly slow down a target of choice) 5: Vampire (a module which allows you to drain a targets capacitor into yours slowly) 6: Cloaking device/ or adaptive camo 7: Electric counter measures ECM: this would scramble hostile tacknet nearby.
Special active modules: Teck 2 spec ops based suit modules: Infiltrator module: Allows the operator to appear as friendly to hostile targets Tacnet hacker: Allows the operator to do a few things if they can find a downed hostile, scramble their squads tacnet, reveal the location of people in the persons squad and all they see.
Teck 2 combat bases suits modules: Weapon overload: boosts the fire rate and damage of weapons but over use of this will cause heat build up and weapons to jam. Shield or Armor Overload: Allows either to have very high resistances with a good rep for a short amount of time allowing the user to tank incoming damage to a point.
Teck 2 Logi modules: Nanite Core: When active turns the logi into a a walking repper and ammo dump, it repairs or boosts shield of those around it very effectively Energy transporter: another area of effect around the logi which recharges capacitor of those around him.
Sorry i know lists are frowned upon but i didnt want to make a tread for everything here also if anyone else has idea as to what would be a good addition to active modules and of capacitor, or ideas as to why this would be a good or bad idea id like to know, |

That might be hard to implement as Dropsuits do not have Active Modules yet. It's hard to control your Armor Repairer when it's automatic. |

Dropsuits have "active mods" in the form of equipment, and I doubt they'll ever have capacitor. It's just not feasible to implement for infantry.
Can't wait until we get it on vehicles, though. |

As it stands now most of this stuff only has a passive version if any version, iam simply suggesting adding the stuff in the post but first step would be to add a capacitor and build on the module system from there, i also think some sort of module grouping sytem to a hotkey would make it alot easier to use.
All honesty i understand where your coming from it would be hard to do soon but iam thinking long run dust will hopefully be around for quite some time, thanks for the thoughts on it
Also as far as i know the suits already have a power core so a capacitor wouldnt have to be a big one would not be a stretch of imagination, plus i think it would be very interesting as it would add massive variety to fights. |
