So before reading any further. Rember I love typos!!!!
So first off i was in meeting with STB officals an we were chatting away about the upcoming district control launch. So I was spit-balling ideas an thought it would be cool to see the community's response to this.
What if CCP mirrored the Dust districts to EVE systems. Meaning in NULL when you own a system SOV, you can upgrade them to make more money ratting or mining or watever. Basically I am wondering If CCP wants to stir the pot an make distrit warfare interesting. Do you think they will allow us to upgrade the district to get better chance of salvage? Or higher ISK payouts when we PvE or succesfully fend off intruders?
What if we could upgrade the districts we own an make the PvE side harder, or maybe differnet drones that are only fond in certain SEC districts. Get stonger drones to shoot or somthinmg like that.
I hope that when we are allowed into NULL(hell even in low sec it would be awsome), regions are EVE partners own will be accessible to us as DUST mercs. THe many districts that will be avaible may not yield profit right away an will force CEO's to spend money on the clone buildings, but what if we could upgrade other things as well. It would take a small -0.4 district upgrade it fully to say -0.9, now the chance for loot is high. PvE isk payouts are larger an it looks realy shiny to enemies... SHINY in EVE = PVP . A shiny district may intice other corps to attack causing the first ever DUST 514 MERC WAR... maybe that war will make it to NEW EDEN LORE... I hope I am along for that ride!
Anyhow mercs an capuleers agree or disagree . I think the choice to upgrade a systm would benefit the meta game as well as set the stage for district pirates (RAIDERS) make the game exciting like it is in EVE an force Corps an alliances to plan district control an plan for the inevitable onlsought of eneimes that dont want to pay for the upgrade, rather just hot drop an take it!
Make us want to keep are districts becasue we sank millions of isk into them, instead of jsut letting it fall an moving to a differntet place.
just saying the sci-fy mmo part of this game is wat drewe me in. The chance to cross regions leaving a flameing war torn path of destruction behind me an my boys. I look forward to the progress of this game an hope that it spearheads change in the gaming community. THis link gives endless possiblities to DUST 514. I hope my idea here is helpful or enlighting to any!

It would be awesome to make a ton of iskies to pay for all your gear and maybe upgrades that make it harder to attack would make you have to take defenses down first then attack the planet and keep the upgrades or you can destroy upgrades and leave the planet/corp in rubble.

Surprised at how much this made sense Quick, :P but really. I've always thought this was the end game for Dust integration. By controlling districts of a planet you benefit PVE activities on EVE, and even PVE on Dust which is hopefully coming soon. Making every action that Dust takes affect EVE is the greatest way to ensure both games support each other. I am confident CCP understands that the more united the games become the more successful they will become. |

CCP has said that there looking into all sorts of things regarding this issue. Upon launch of the planetary conquest system though, only one region of space is going to be available, and in that region 250 districts are going to be available for capture. Each district is going to start off with one of three differn't types of fortifications (infrastructure) that gives certain bonuses to either clone respawn rate, or clone storage space. (dont remember the other one).
Right now there focused on just giving us the conquest side of things, but soon enough im sure will have things like what you mentioned above |

The premise is good. I would give some consideration to whether PC and PVE should be linked, though. Together PVE and PVP form a nice supply-demand dynamo, but if they are merged it polarizes. Having them separate would make two endgames: carebear or pvp. |

one interesting concept they mentioned is having the clones we make somehow linked to eve. It was hinted that we might supply clones to eve players, and this provides a lot of interesting concepts.
In eve they have a system called PI (planetary interaction). In this an eve player can drop a command center down on a planet along with dozens of other infrastructures and start mining materials and producing things off it. Most of the buildings if i remember correctly can be upgraded to level 5 as well.
So say we own a planet and it has level 5 clone research facilities with level 5 clone production facilities and maybe other instalations that boost the quality of clones we make. The theory is that we could then go ahead and sell these clones to eve players. Maybe "higher quality" clones in this case could be the production of clones with implants already installed. Implants in eve can be VERY expensive to buy and so if dust players are allowed to make clones with implants aready there we could sell them for considerably less (though still expensive) to eve pilots who would otherwise have to buy each implant individually.
This way they spend maybe 100 million on maybe 5 of our clones instead of spending 500 million on 1 set of implants. This to me would be a great way to initially link the two economys because it would provide Dust with real demand from eve side, and thats the big question a lot of eve players have been asking..... the whole "why should i care about dust?" thing. |

Sadly, Marston, different clones. DUST clones allow instant transfer of conciousness (as in the starting video for the game), whereas EVE pilots make a clone of themselves at a fixed period in time. Well, rather, they make a clone which allows them to have a capacity for SP. Makes sense in my head.
But capsuleers have been around for years, whereas the merc technologoy has only just been discovered. The clones aren't inter-dependable, and clones for capsuleers are manufactured in space, on the stations.
As for the whole economy thing, WE control the planet. We'll allow EVE players to use PI in lowsec/null. If we don't like the alliance holding sov, or an invading alliance wants to take control of the planet for PI, then we come in. We're of huge importance to the economy, especially taking into account that PI is needed for the manufacture of T2 goods. |

soooo where in all of that does it prove dust players cant create eve clones on a planet??? If you want to think of it from a realism stand point, wouldn't it make far more sense for a corp (even an npc one) to build them on planets as i feel it would be far easier to hide then in a space station. Sure ill admit that merc clones are probably differnt to eve clones but theres a simple fix to that. CCP just needs to add an installation that allows us to make both or atleast the eve clones.
Currently in eve there is a limitless number of clones because those clones are seeded by NPC corps. CCP needs only to give production rights of those clones over to dust players and the problem is solved. That creates supply and demand. Of course there should always be stock clones available for purchase (because it would be really dumb if a dust corp is monopolizing all the clones and refuses to sell them to pilots). But Dust mercs should be allowed to sell more advanced ones to players as a conveniant alternative to just buying enhancements themselves.
You might be right about the PI thing but CCP has said a few times that it would make sense if things were like that, but initally they wont be. (found in one of their fanfest videos i believe). This to me seems like a much more simple way for the two economies to interact with each other. A sort of "low risk" strategy for CCP to take because the only other market i see it effecting is the implant market on eve side, but i dont know enough about that to defend it or argue against it. Where as PI effects a TON of things such as POS fuel..... Which if CCP messed up with that would mean a LOT of angry eve pilots. |

In null you can already upgrade the system using i-hub upgrades which effect various parts of the system like ratting/anons etc
In FW you use your LP earned from plexing/fighting to upgrade the system so that the tier is increase across the FW zone so that you get cheaper prices in the loyalty store
So atm 2 ways could be done
1. Leave it to the alliances in null - no way atm to upgrade the system from the DUST side unless corps donate isk for the upgrades
2. Allow DUST ppl to upgrade the planets in the system but would it be tied to the overall system upgrades or not? plus how would it be done?
In FW tho they could earn LP from battles and be allowed to donate it to the ihub, it wouldnt be a problem i think
